J.J. Watt Isn't Seeking Contract Extension

J.J. Watt isn't seeking a contract extension with the Houston Texans.

Watt has two years and no guaranteed money left on his deal.

"No, I don't think that's necessary," he said. "I'm not going to sit here and demand anything. If I asked for an extension or money right now, I think that would be the wrong move."

Watt is under contract for $15.5 million in 2020 and $17.5 million in 2021.

Chiefs To Host Texans To Open 2020 Season

The Kansas City Chiefs will open the NFL season on Thursday, September 10th against the Houston Texans.

The Chiefs defeated the Texans 51-31 in the Divisional Round of the 2019 playoffs after trailing 24-0.

The Chiefs went on to win the Super Bowl over the San Francisco 49ers.

The NFL picked the Texans for opening night for the Chiefs over the Broncos, Chargers, Raiders, Patriots, Jets, Falcons and Panthers. Kansas City will play at the Saints in a potential Super Bowl preview.

Texans To Hire Facility Hygiene Coordinator

The Houston Texans plan to hire a facility hygiene coordinator in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to a report, the employee would "run coronavirus risk mitigation" throughout the Texans' facilities, is the "first known case of a major U.S. pro sports team hiring a dedicated industrial hygiene expert."

The person hired will report to Texans coordinator of medical administration Geoff Kaplan.
