Jared Goff: Lions Feel Like We Can Beat Anyone

Sep 29, 2023 8:54 AM

Jared Goff wasn't overly excited after the Detroit Lions' 34-20 win over the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night.

"It's what we expect to do," Goff said. "We have a good team."

The Lions are 3-1 with wins coming at Arrowhead Stadium and Lambeau Field.

"We have that confidence," the quarterback said. "Like I said, send us anywhere. Line us up against anyone, and we feel like we can go in there and beat them, and that's a good feeling to have. Is it always gonna happen? I don't know, but we feel like we can. We have that confidence in ourselves, in our coaches and each other. We're working together really well right now."

Dan Campbell: Lions 'Expected' To Beat Chiefs

Sep 8, 2023 8:35 AM

Dan Campbell wasn't surprised by the Detroit Lions' 21-20 Opening Night win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Campbell prepared his team for Thursday's upset at Arrowhead Stadium, as Detroit opened the regular season 1-0 for the first time since 2017.

"I didn't learn anything, I got verification on what I already knew, and this is a resilient team," Campbell said. "It already was a resilient team and we added pieces to that resilient team, so we're built to handle some stuff and we did that today against a very good opponent."

The Lions trailed 17-14 entering the fourth quarter against the defending Super Bowl champions.

"We expected to win this game. We came in here and we knew what we needed to do, and we knew it wasn't going to be easy and we did that," Campbell said. "Really what it means is that's one [win]. That's one. So, we've got to clean up our issues. It hurt us on some stuff today and be ready for Seattle in 10 days. That's what it is."

Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs Eyeing 1,000 Yards Rushing, 500 Yards Receiving

Sep 6, 2023 8:07 AM

Jahmyr Gibbs is looking forward to a productive rookie season with the Detroit Lions.

The 12th overall pick said that he believes he can top 1,000 rushing yards and 500 receiving yards this year.

"Most definitely," Gibbs said, "especially with this system."

Last year, Christian McCaffrey was the only player in the NFL to top 1,000 rushing yards and 500 receiving yards.

No one did it in either 2022 or 2021.
