Reggie Bush Believes Lack Of Chemistry Hurt Lions

Oct 31, 2014 9:24 PM

Reggie Bush cites a lack of team chemistry for the Detroit Lions' collapse during the second half of the season.

"I just think that maybe our chemistry as a team definitely struggled and lacked a little bit -- and obviously the turnovers and big plays, making more plays when needed."

Jim Schwartz is widely expected to be fired in the offseason.

"As a team, when you kind of have that mentality that no matter what the situation is, you can always overcome it and come out with a win," Bush said.

Stafford Dismisses Suggestion Of Working With QB Guru

Nov 8, 2014 11:43 AM

Matthew Stafford was asked why he wouldn't want to work with a quarterback guru in the offseason.

"Probably not," Stafford said. "It's not something that I feel would be my style or beneficial to me."

Stafford completed just 52.5 percent of his passes over his past seven games while throwing more interceptions than touchdowns.

"It's not my thing," said Stafford.

Ken Whisenhunt Could Be Strong Candidate For Lions' Job

Jul 8, 2014 8:16 AM

Ken Whisenhunt could be the next head coach of the Detroit Lions should they fire Jim Schwartz.

Schwartz is widely expected to be fired after another disappointing season.

Whisenhunt was a teammate of general manager Martin Mayhew for two seasons with the Washington Redskins.

The Houston Texans are also interested in Whisenhunt.

Whisenhunt led the Arizona Cardinals to a Super Bowl and is currently the offensive coordinator of the San Diego Chargers.

Jim Schwartz Denies Yelling At Fans

Jul 30, 2014 7:00 PM

Jim Schwartz's job as head coach of the Detroit Lions is in serious doubt after they were eliminated from playoff contention with an overtime loss to the New York Giants in Week 16.

Schwartz was seen apparently yelling at fans that were booing his decision not to go for the win at the end of the fourth quarter.

"I wasn't addressing the crowd, I was just trying to get our team fired up," Schwartz said, via MLive.com. "I think the psyche of the team at that point, we needed to have that spark. We needed to feel like we're going out here and overtime and we're going to go win it. That's the only thing I was doing there."

Media reports indicated that Schwartz would be fired by the Lions if they failed to reach the playoffs.

Lions Nearly Fired Jim Schwartz Last Offseason

Nov 12, 2014 10:46 AM

The Detroit Lions nearly fired Jim Schwartz after they went 4-12 in 2012.

"Then, there's the fact that Schwartz was nearly fired last year," Ed Werder said. "Really, the only reason he wasn't was Bill Ford Jr. felt that the buyout number in his contract was far too high.

"But there are people, internally, who question how undisciplined this team is and they really have an aversion to Schwartz's personality."

The Lions are widely expected to fire Schwartz if they don't reach the playoffs.
