Trent Richardson Could Have More Than 300 Carries

Nov 23, 2014 12:39 AM

Trent Richardson had 267 carries for 950 yards and 11 touchdowns last season as a rookie with the Cleveland Browns.

Norv Turner, the Browns' new offensive coordinator, thinks Richardson could have more than 300 rushing attempts.

"Just watching him and seeing him against us when I came here in October and then watching the tape, yeah, he’s that type of runner,'' said Turner. "Obviously he’s the third pick in the draft. I think he has a lot of great days ahead of him. I always have a problem comparing players because each guy has his own unique style, but I think he’s capable of doing great things.”

Richardson was the third overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

"Obviously, the trend in the league is to not do that, but I think it depends on your team and everyone around it,'' Turner said today. "If that player is your best player, then I think it’s probably a good thing to have him in the game and give him the ball. So I would hope Trent would have that many carries. That means he’s playing healthy and playing at a pretty high level.''

Browns Have Plan To Maintain Haslam's Ownership If Indicted

May 22, 2014 4:56 PM

Jimmy Haslam has no plans to sell the Cleveland Browns as he continues to deal with a federal investigation into his Pilot Flying J company.

"Absolutely not. We plan on owning the Browns for a long time," said Haslam.

Federal agents say the conversations outline a scheme to defraud trucking companies of fuel rebates.

A source told ESPN that the Browns have a "plan in place" to maintain Haslam's ownership of the team if he is indicted in the FBI's investigation. When asked about this, Haslam said, "I don't want to answer any legal questions."
