The Arizona Cardinals have been busy on the first night of the draft, but DeAndre Hopkins remains with the franchise.

When asked about a potential Hopkins trade, Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort said, "I don't foresee that happening."

Hopkins has long been rumored to be on the move this offseason. 

The Arizona Cardinals have traded up to the No. 6 pick and selected Ohio State offensive tackle Paris Johnson, Jr.

In the deal, the Detroit Lions received picks No. 12, No. 34 and No. 168.

In addition to getting the sixth pick, Arizona will also receive the 81st pick.

The Houston Texans, who drafted C.J. Stroud with the second overall pick, have traded to No. 3 as well in a deal with the Arizona Cardinals, according to a report.

With the third overall pick, the Texans selected Alabama linebacker Will Anderson, Jr.

In the trade, the Cardinals will receive the No. 12 pick, No. 33 pick and first and third-round selections in 2024. Houston gets No. 3 and No. 105.

The Arizona Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles have settled a tampering investigation by trading picks in the 2023 and 2024 draft. 

The teams are swapping third-round picks in 2023 (a 28-pick difference), and the Cardinals will receive the Eagles' fifth-round pick in 2024.

In a joint statement, the teams explained that Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort had a phone conversation with Eagles defensive coordinator — and now Cardinals coach — Jonathan Gannon in the days following the NFC Championship.

The conversation was a violation of rules. The statement contends that the Cardinals self-reported the issue.

The University of Oklahoma unveiled a statue of 2018 Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray this weekend ahead of the Sooners' annual spring game.

Murray and his family were in Norman for the festivities.

The statue depicts Murray, helmetless, in a throwing motion, complete with the patented headband he wore in college. 

The Arizona Cardinals had Nick Bosa as the best overall prospect in the 2019 NFL draft, but they picked Kyler Murray at No. 1 given their need at quarterback. The San Francisco 49ers owned the No. 2 pick that year.

“When Kliff Kingsbury and I got together to go to see players and have dinners, we went to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and had dinner with Nick Bosa prior to the draft. And loved him, obviously. Our highest-graded guy on the board. Amazing in every way,” former Arizona GM Steve Keim told Colin Cowherd.

“He puts his arm around me and Kliff Kingsbury, both of us, in basically a headlock,” Keim said. “And he said, ‘I think you guys are going to end up taking that little quarterback, and if you do,’ he looked over at me and said, ‘Steve, I will haunt you for the rest of your career.'”

Bosa was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2022 and has been a dominant pass rusher since entering the NFL.

Budda Baker has requested a trade from the Arizona Cardinals.

Baker informed the Cardinals in February that he wanted to be traded or receive a new deal to make him the highest-paid safety in the NFL.

Baker is owed $13.1 million this season and $14.2 million in 2024 from a four-year, $59 million extension he signed in 2020 that made him the highest-paid NFL safety at the time.

DeAndre Hopkins skipped the first day of voluntary workouts under new Arizona Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon on Tuesday.

Hopkins worked out in Houston while his teammates gathered in Tempe, Arizona.

When asked whether he expects Hopkins to join the Cardinals at any point during the voluntary portion of the offseason workouts, Gannon said, "We'll see."

"I've been in communication with D-Hop and I want to do what's best for him and us at the same time," Gannon said. "So, when he's ready to come, he'll come, and improve his game, too."

Hopkins is scheduled to have a $30.75 million cap hit in 2023, which will be the highest on the team and has made him the center of trade speculation for weeks. 

Kliff Kingsbury is headed back to the college ranks.

After a four-year run with the Arizona Cardinals, Kingsbury is expected to join the USC coaching staff to work with quarterbacks, according to a report.

He will work under Lincoln Riley and work with reigning-Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams.

The Arizona Cardinals have received interest from at least six teams looking to acquire the third overall pick.

The Cardinals are still considering whether to move the pick or make it for themselves. 

There are a number of teams interested in a deep quarterback class while the Cardinals are set with Kyler Murray.
