Vikings Acquire Joshua Dobbs From Cardinals

Oct 31, 2023 2:20 PM

The Minnesota Vikings have acquired Joshua Cobbs from the Arizona Cardinals for a sixth round pick. Arizona also sent a conditional seventh-round pick that can become a sixth-rounder based on Dobbs' play time.

Minnesota needed a quarterback after losing Kirk Cousins on Sunday to a torn Achilles.

Dobbs has started the Cardinals' first eight games and has thrown for 1,569 yards with eight touchdowns and five interceptions. The Cardinals are 1-7 this season.

Reports: Clayton Tune Expected To Start For Cardinals

Oct 31, 2023 7:52 AM

Jonathan Gannon said after Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens that Joshua Dobbs would get another start at quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, but the coach appears to have changed course.

On Monday, Gannon said that either Kyler Murray or rookie Clayton Tune would get the start. He said the decision was based on watching the film of Sunday's loss.

Murray has not played in a game since tearing his ACL last season.

According to multiple reports, however, the Cardinals are planning to have Clayton Tune start against the Cleveland Browns.

Cardinals Don't Activate Kyler Murray For Sunday's Game

Oct 28, 2023 9:15 PM

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was not activated for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens despite not having an official injury designation after Thursday's and Friday's practice.

Murray, who started the season on the physically unable to perform list, is still within the 21-day practice window after returning to practice on Oct. 18th. He would need to be activated to the 53-man roster before he could play in a game.

Murray was listed as doubtful on Friday's injury report.

Kyler Murray's Return Holds Financial Risk For Cardinals

Oct 22, 2023 12:09 PM

The Arizona Cardinals want Kyler Murray to play again this season and are willing to take the financial risk that comes along with his return.

Murray, who returned to practice last week for the first time since suffering a torn ACL in December, has $29.9 million in 2025 salary compensation that becomes fully guaranteed in March if he can't pass a physical by then.

The only way to ensure that Murray would be healthy by March would be to not play him, which the Cardinals don't want to do.

Murray, 26, signed a five-year extension in July 2022 that keeps him under contract through the 2028 season and includes $160 million guaranteed for injury.

Seahawks List DK Metcalf, Zach Charbonnet As Questionable

Oct 22, 2023 1:13 AM

The Seattle Seahawks could be without two key players on offense Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.

Wide receiver DK Metcalf is dealing with hip and rib injuries, and the Seahawks are likely to decide his status in pregame warmups Sunday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. In addition, backup running back Zach Charbonnet is not expected to play because of an injured hamstring, the source said.

Both players are officially questionable to play.
