Cardinals Gave Lawmakers Tickets

May 20, 2014 5:20 AM

From 2006 to 2009, the Arizona Cardinals gave dozens of state lawmakers free tickets -- including premium seats in the owner's loft -- to NFL games. The goal, according to the organization was to improve its standing at the Arizona Legislature after losing battles to the Fiesta Bowl over stadium-sharing issues. For years, the Fiesta Bowl curried legislative favor by doling out free game tickets and taking lawmakers on expensive out-of-state trips.

Kolb Expected To Land In Arizona Or Seattle

Sep 21, 2014 10:08 AM

Jason La Canfora of NFL.com believes that Philadelphia's Kevin Kolb is the quarterback most likely to be traded once the league year resumes. "It's go West young man. Most of the people I talk to in the league believe it's a two-horse race between Arizona and Seattle," La Canfora writes. "The Eagles want first-round compensation, and if the market bears only a second and a little something else, then sources say there is a very real chance Philly holds on to him as insurance for 2011. Ultimately, I think they get the first-round pick for him, though. If not, he stays."

Peterson Unlikely To Return Kicks For Cardinals?

Sep 12, 2014 9:23 PM

Cardinals rookie cornerback Patrick Peterson's value was enhanced by his kick-returning ability, but team insiders don't believe he'll regularly return kicks. "Since they expect him to be an elite, every-down corner, I think they will be very judicious as far as using Peterson as a returner," one team insider said. "I think they will use him in spot situations, but I think Andre Roberts will remain the starting punt returner, and LaRod Stephens-Howling will definitely remain the starting kickoff returner."
