May 23, 2014 3:54 AM

Kevin Kolb wore a walking boot on his right foot after Sunday's loss by the Cardinals to the Ravens. Kolb said he suffered the injury on the first play of the game. He limped around, but he didn't miss a play against Baltimore and led Arizona to an early lead. After the game, Whisenhunt told KTAR-AM that the injury could be turf toe.

Flacco Fine With Early Boos At Home

Nov 23, 2014 12:27 AM

Joe Flacco and the Ravens endured boos at home on Sunday before staging the biggest comeback victory in the history of the franchise. Billy Cundiff kicked a 25-yard field goal as time expired for Baltimore. The Cardinals led 24-3 late in the second quarter, but the Ravens scored 27 of the game's final 30 points. "You can take a few boos every now and then," Flacco said, "especially when you come back and win the game." The sellout crowd of 71,022 voiced their displeasure after Arizona scored three touchdowns in a matter of five minutes in the second quarter. "I don't go to a lot of football games, but I probably would have wanted to boo if I was in the stands, too," Flacco said. "We weren't looking too good. We weren't playing too well."

Rice 'Expects To Be More Involved' Against Cardinals

Jul 1, 2014 8:54 PM

Ray Rice didn't demand more touches following Baltimore's loss to the Jaguars on Monday, but he expects to be more involved this weekend. "I definitely expect to be more involved," Rice said. "My involvement with this offense hasn't changed since the beginning of the season, I don't want Cam and them to feel like they've got to force me the ball. I'm not that kind of guy. My carries come when the whole offense has success. I look forward to having that success. "We're not going to ignore the fact it happened. We didn't execute I don't want to make it seem like I'm begging for carries. At the same time, I do know when we're getting first downs I touch the ball." The Carroll County Times reported Rice's eight carries for 28 yards against Jacksonville marked his lowest output since an Oct. 3, 2010, game against the Steelers. Rice struggled to hold onto the ball throughout the loss, losing one fumble, and he spent a long stretch of the game on the sidelines.

Fitzgerald Denies Frustration After Saying Cardinals Need Help

Oct 21, 2014 2:35 AM

Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald and quarterback Kevin Kolb have yet to click this season as they had hoped. Still, Fitzgerald said he's experiencing "no frustration at all" that he isn't getting the ball more often or that the Cardinals don't have a stronger No. 2 receiver, as he expressed in an interview to The Arizona Republic earlier this week. "Things come in bunches, you know," Fitzgerald said. "I'm always going to stay confident and try to be ready when my number's called. You can't allow that stuff to seep into your mind, the doubt or anything like that, you've got to just stay positive." Fitzgerald said his recent comments weren't intended to criticize the current makeup of the team, which is 1-4 and has lost four in a row entering Sunday's home game against the Steelers. Fitzgerald said he was only pointing out that Arizona's 2008 Super Bowl squad was loaded with talent. "He asked me what's different about 2008, and I just explained to him you've got to remember Kurt Warner was here, he's a Hall of Famer. Anquan Boldin was here, he's a three- or four-time Pro Bowler," Fitzgerald said. "I mean, we had Antrel Rolle, we had Karlos Dansby. We're talking about Pro Bowl-caliber guys on both sides of the ball. I wasn't saying that we 'need' these type of players."

Phoenix won on the second ballot, prompting screams of joy from the Arizona committee. "Everyone pulled together throughout the Phoenix area to put together a terrific package we were able to present to the owners," Cardinals president Michael Bidwill said. "We are delighted."

Kolb Questions Cardinals' Professionalism

May 21, 2014 1:51 PM

The Cardinals have a host of issues, but it was surprising to hear quarterback Kevin Kolb question the team's professionalism following Sunday's loss to the Vikings. "That's the problem. It's not one person making a lot of mistakes; it's all of us making one or two mistakes," Kolb said. "That's where details come in. The head coach hit the nail on the head: We've got to get back to detail-oriented football. "It starts with meetings. It starts with showing up to work on time, getting in early, getting your work done. All of the stuff that a professional is supposed to do."
