Buccaneers Have No Timetable For Chris Godwin's Return

May 19, 2022 9:52 AM

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers don't have a timetable for Chris Godwin's return from an ACL injury suffered last season.

Godwin signed a three-year, $60 million contract this offseason.

"When he's ready to go, he's ready to go. We don't put a timetable on it," Todd Bowles said. "He's coming along. Obviously, he's better than where he was. But, he's not where he needs to be. He's coming along – he works hard."

Fox Disputes Tom Brady's Reported Contract Details

May 11, 2022 9:22 AM

Fox has taken issue with the reporting around Tom Brady's post-playing career contract to serve as an analyst for the network.

The New York Post reported that Brady will receive a 10-year, $375 million deal when he retires from playing.

"What has been reported isn't an accurate description of the deal and we have not released details beyond what was disclosed on our quarterly earnings call," Fox corporate spokesman Brian Nick said, without specifying what was inaccurate.

Tom Brady, Fox Sports Agree To 10-Year, $375M Deal

May 10, 2022 11:48 AM

Tom Brady has agreed to join Fox Sports as its lead football analyst once his playing career ends. Brady's contract will be for $375 million over 10 years.

The deal doubles what Tony Romo and Troy Aikman earn annually at $18 million per season.

Brady announced his retirement this offseason before changing his mind to return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for his 23rd NFL season.

“Over the course of this long-term agreement, Tom will not only call our our biggest NFL games with Kevin Burkhardt, he will also serve as an ambassador for us, particularly with respect to client and promotional initiatives,” Lachlan Murdoch said.

Murdoch said it’s “entirely up to” Brady when he decides to retire from football and join Fox.

Fox recently lost its top football announcers, Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, to ESPN. It replaced Buck with Burkhardt. Fox will broadcast two of the next three Super Bowls.

Brady has one season remaining on his contract with the Buccaneers.
