Buccaneers Fire Greg Schiano, Mark Dominik

Aug 5, 2014 8:20 PM

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have fired Greg Schiano and Mark Dominik.

Schiano lasted just two seasons as head coach of the Buccaneers.

Dominik had been general manager of the Buccaneers since 2009.

"The results over the past two years have not lived up to our standards and we believe the time has come to find a new direction," wrote Bryan Glazer in a statement. "Mark has been a valued member of our organization for two decades and we respect the passion he showed for the Buccaneers during his time here. We thank Greg for his hard work and effort the past two seasons, but we feel these moves are necessary in order to achieve our goals."

Penn State To Pursue Greg Schiano

Sep 28, 2014 3:03 AM

Penn State will push to hire Greg Schiano if Bill O'Brien leaves to take the head coaching job of the Houston Texans as expected.

Schiano previously was at Rutgers before becoming head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2012. Schiano has a two-year record of 11-20 heading into Sunday's game.

"I want to stay here," Schiano reportedly told his bosses with the Buccaneers. "I want to be in the NFL. I want to be in Tampa."
