Tom Brady Bribed Tampa Bay Teammates To Make Big Plays

Apr 22, 2024 8:38 AM

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive lineman Ali Marpet says that Tom Brady essentially bribed his teammates to play better during the quarterback's time with the team.

According to Marpet, the Buccaneers' ability to run a simple screen had gotten so "abysmal" that Brady decided to start offering cash payments in order to motivate everyone to play better.

"[Brady] took our starting offensive line to the side and he's like, 'Hey, if you guys can get a screen to go for more than 15 yards, I will give you $1,000 cash each. That is for you guys; so every time that we get that, I will be happy to make that payment,'" Marpet said.

According to Marpet, the Buccaneers ran multiple 15-yard screens over the rest of the season.

Report: Antoine Winfield Working Toward Huge Deal With Buccaneers

Apr 11, 2024 10:07 AM

Antoine Winfield is working toward a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that will make him the NFL's highest-paid safety, according to a report.

There is optimism that a deal will come to fruition before the mid-July deadline for franchise-tagged players to sign a multi-year contract.

Winfield, who turns 26 this offseason, was a second-round pick (No. 45 overall) in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Buccaneers, Randy Gregory Agree On One-Year Deal

Apr 3, 2024 6:49 PM

The Buccaneers agreed to terms with outside linebacker Randy Gregory on a one-year deal, the team announced Wednesday.

The move helps the Bucs fill a need at outside linebacker after the departure of Pro Bowler Shaquil Barrett -- who was released in a salary-cap-saving move and later signed with the Miami Dolphins this offseason -- but it doesn't preclude Tampa Bay from drafting a player at the position, as well.
