Montana: Seahawks Could Be On Verge Of Dynasty

Sep 3, 2014 11:42 AM

Joe Montana believes the Seattle Seahawks may be on the verge of a dynasty due to how the team is built.

Montana played nearly his entire career with the San Francisco 49ers, though the Seahawks were in the AFC during his era.

“I think they have the capability to. When you look at the way the team is put together, they’re young, they’re aggressive; their coach is very aggressive and upbeat. Anytime you can make going to work fun, even though you’re playing as I say ‘a stupid game for a living,’ it makes going to that facility every day really a joy. When you’re having fun at what you’re doing, you’re always a lot better at it.”

Lynch Reports To Camp, Trusts Seahawks To Negotiate In Good Faith

Nov 11, 2014 3:27 PM

Marshawn Lynch reported to Seattle Seahawks' minicamp on Tuesday.

Lynch and the Seahawks are discussing changes to his contract, which made him the NFL's fifth highest paid running back in 2013.

Lynch reportedly doesn’t want to pay the nearly $70,000 fine for missing minicamp, trusting the Seahawks will negotiate in good faith.

The centerpiece of Seattle’s offense since arriving in 2010, Lynch has led the NFL in the past three seasons with 1,002 regular-season and playoff carries, tallying 4,517 rushing yards and 41 touchdowns during that span.

Marshawn Lynch Expected To Miss Seahawks' Mandatory Minicamp

Oct 31, 2014 6:30 AM

The Seattle Seahawks don't expect Marshawn Lynch to report to mandatory minicamp next week.

Entering the third year of a four-year deal the running back signed with the Seahawks in 2012, Lynch is set to earn a base salary of $5 million this year and $5.5 million next.

Lynch also skipped last month's visit to the White House.

Lynch missed some offseason sessions last season, but he hasn't missed mandatory minicamp sessions since his rookie season.

Sherman Wants L.O.B. To Join Him On Madden Cover

Jul 16, 2014 7:31 AM

Richard Sherman was voted as the cover athlete for Madden NFL 15 and he's now attempting to have Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor and Byron Maxwell join him.

The secondary is famously nicknamed the "Legion of Boom."

"I've been trying to get the Legion of Boom on the cover, and EA has been fighting me," Sherman told reporters Monday at the Seahawks' OTA. "So if everybody wants to start a petition to get the Legion of Boom on the cover, here it is, here's an open invitation."

Sherman is only the third defensive player to make the Madden cover.

Sherman reiterated his appreciation for the cover vote Monday, referring to it as an honor.

"It was cool. It was really cool," Sherman said. "It was a great experience. It's always an honor being picked for 'Madden.' It's a fun deal."

Carroll: We Love Beating 'Great Coach' Jim Harbaugh

Jun 18, 2014 6:00 PM

The San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks have one of the NFL's best rivalries with their head coaches having history that dates back to their time at Stanford and USC.

Jim Harbaugh and Pete Carroll had multiple run-ins in college, though they've been fairly civil toward each other in the NFL.

According to the Seattle Times, Carroll said at an event for Seahawks fans that Harbaugh is “a great coach and we love beating him.”

Wilson Praises Seahawks' Speed At Receiver

Jul 14, 2014 12:54 AM

Russell Wilson has been impressed by what he has seen from the Seattle Seahawks' wide receivers during OTAs.

"Our receivers right now are as fast as it gets," Wilson said. "You’ve got Percy (Harvin) and Doug Baldwin, and now can add Paul Richardson, who you saw [Monday] get that deep ball. So I think our receivers group is one of the faster ones in the league now, based of who we have."

Chris Matthews, the 2012 CFL rookie of the year, had a rough practice Monday, but Wilson likes what he sees in the 6-5, 220-pound receiver.

"Especially [last] Friday," Wilson said of Matthews. "He was turning it out, man, and making unbelievable catches going over guys. He’s a big target and that’s what we need."
