OBJ: I Was Stuck At Place With Giants That Wasn't Working For Me

Jun 21, 2019 4:06 PM

Odell Beckham Jr. said he believes leaving the New York Giants was necessary for his career.

"I can’t wait to get going," said Beckham. "I just felt with the Giants I was just stuck at a place that wasn’t working for me anymore. I felt like I wasn’t going to be able to reach my full potential there; mentally, physically, spiritually, everything I felt capable of doing, I just couldn’t see it happening there. So I think allowing me to be in an environment where I can be myself and give it a different approach, I feel like my football will benefit. I’m just excited about being able to play football again and not have to deal with all the other stuff and politics that came with my previous role."

Beckham was asked about playing with former LSU teammate Jarvis Landry with the Browns.

"I’m very excited by the culture at the Browns. It’s been building over the years, and they’ve got players over there who I just know I’m gonna click with. Jarvis is a brother of mine, and we dreamed of this moment. It’s just crazy that it’s actually happening. The percentage of people that make it to the NFL is less than 1%, so the chances of me playing with one of my brothers on the same team is a dream manifested, for sure."

Eli Manning Says He Won't Stress About Daniel Jones

Jun 6, 2019 8:06 AM

The New York Giants still consider Eli Manning their starter, but first-round pick Daniel Jones is clearly waiting in the wings.

Manning acknowledged that Jones creates a situation where "things can change" if he doesn't perform well.

"I don't think you can stress that," Manning said. "You got to go out there. I'm going to do my best every time I'm at practice and every time at the games and hope that's enough for us to win the games. ... I think it's still kind of a situation where you have to have the same approach you've treated all the other years and just kind of hope for the best."

Giants Impressed With Daniel Jones' Running Ability

Jun 5, 2019 9:27 AM

Much has been made about the New York Giants' decision to draft Daniel Jones.

Early on, Jones has displayed a skill set different than that of the 38-year-old Eli Manning. Specifically, Jones has shown the ability to gain chunks of yards with his legs.

"Oh man, he pulled that thing and kicked the knees up, it was good," Sterling Shepard said. "I knew we were going to get the defense on that, but yeah, he looked great running...

I've seen some tape on him running. He crossed somebody up -- I forgot which team it was in college -- but he was carving them up pretty good on his feet."
