Giants Will Send Scout To Colin Kaepernick's Workout

Nov 13, 2019 4:02 PM

The New York Giants will send a scout to Colin Kaepernick's workout on Saturday in Atlanta.

"All my years being in the league, I never received more emotional mail from people than I did about that issue: ‘If any of your players ever do that, we are never coming to another Giants game,’ " Giants owner John Mara Mara told MMQB in 2017. “It wasn’t one or two letters. It was a lot. It’s an emotional, emotional issue for a lot of people, more so than any other issue I’ve run into."

Mara has previously said he believes Kaepernick still has the ability to play quarterback in the NFL.

“I think he still has some good football left in him,” Mara said. “I agree with that. But obviously there are other issues that go along with him. Is he willing to sit as a backup behind a starter? What’s that going to do with your locker room, with your quarterback room, your offensive room? I believe he’ll be back in the league at some point this year with a team.”

Saquon Barkley Won't Accept Sitting Out Remainder Of 2019

Nov 12, 2019 3:58 PM

Saquon Barkley isn't 100 percent and the New York Giants have a 2-8 record, but he still won't accept getting shut down for the season.

Barkley underwent an X-ray on shoulder after Sunday's loss to the New York Jets.

Barkley missed three games last month due to a high ankle sprain. Since returning to action, Barkley is averaging just 2.6 yards per carry after averaging 6.4 per carry initially this season.

"The mindset of sitting me out and resting me for the rest of the season is beyond me," Barkley said. "I do not agree with it. It won't happen. I'm going to keep going until I can't go no more. That's the player I am and I'm going to do it for my teammates."

Saquon Barkley Has X-ray After Career-Worst Rushing Performance

Nov 11, 2019 7:59 AM

Saquon Barkley rushed for a single yard on 13 carries against the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon.

At some point, he may have suffered an injury as well. The New York Giants running back was seen entering the X-ray room by reporters following the game. Pat Shurmur didn't elaborate on a possible injury, but said Barkley "got banged up a little bit today."

Barkley missed three games earlier this season due to a high ankle sprain.
