The Minnesota Vikings will bring Jim Harbaugh for an interview on Wednesday.

Harbaugh and the Vikings spoke on Saturday to gauge his interest in the job.

Harbaugh left the San Francisco 49ers for Michigan after the 2014 season. Harbaugh is coming off his most successful season at Michigan. 

The Minnesota Vikings have received permission to speak to Jim Harbaugh about their head coaching position.

Harbaugh has emerged as a candidate in part because of a strong relationship with new Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, with whom Harbaugh overlapped while he was the coach of the San Francisco 49ers. Adofo-Mensah worked in San Francisco's front office in research and development and worked with Harbaugh in 2013 and 2014.

Harbaugh took a pay cut after the 2-4 season, as his base salary decreased from $8 million annually to $4 million. Michigan has yet to formalize any type of new agreement with Harbaugh after the rebound in 2021.

Harbaugh reached the NFC Championship Game in three of his four seasons as head coach of the 49ers.

The Minnesota Vikings are likely to hire Kwesi Adofo-Mensah as general manager.

Adofo-Mensah, the Cleveland Browns' vice president of football operations, was expected to have his second interview with the Vikings on Tuesday.

Ryan Poles was the other finalist for Minnesota's job, but he is likely to become general manager of the Chicago Bears.

Browns general manager Andrew Berry hired Adofo-Mensah from San Francisco in 2020 after he spent seven seasons as the 49ers' manager -- then director -- of football research and development. 

With the Philadelphia Eagles eliminated from the playoffs, Jonathan Gannon has lined up interviews for several NFL head coaching vacancies.

According to a report, Gannon has interviews with the Houston Texans (Tuesday), Denver Broncos (Wednesday) and Minnesota Vikings (Thursday) scheduled.

Gannon was hired as Philadelphia's defensive coordinator under Nick Sirianni before the 2021 season.

The Minnesota Vikings have requested an interview with Catherine Raiche for their vacant general manager position, according to a report.

Raiche currently serves as the Vice President of Football Operations for the Philadelphia Eagles.

This is believed to be the first GM interview request for a woman in NFL history.

Susan Tose Spencer, who also held VP and legal counsel roles with the Eagles, took over GM duties for the franchise from 1983-85, after being promoted by her father, former owner Leonard Tose.

The Minnesota Vikings have fired head coach Mike Zimmer and general manager Rick Spielman.

The Vikings have missed the playoffs in back-to-back seasons.

Mike Zimmer didn't want to reflect on his time with the Minnesota Vikings after Sunday's comeback win over the Chicago Bears.

There is speculation that Zimmer could be fired after missing the playoffs in back-to-back seasons. He said he had not heard anything about his job status or whether the Week 18 contest was his last as head coach.

"It's not my choice," Zimmer said. "It's not my decision."

"Let's not go there today," he added. "You want to talk about it tomorrow, then let's talk about it tomorrow. But this isn't time to reflect for eight years."

Ja'Marr Chase had 266 yards and three touchdowns in the Cincinnati Bengals' huge comeback win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

The yardage allowed Chase to surpass Justin Jefferson's all-time rookie receiving record with 1,429 yards.

"Everything is overwhelming right now. I'm excited, but overwhelmed," Chase said.

The Bengals took the receiver fifth overall this past spring.
