Chiefs' Frank Clark Arrested; Police Say Uzi Spotted In Car

Jun 22, 2021 9:29 AM

Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark was arrested in Los Angeles after police saw a submachine gun in his car.

Clark, 28, was pulled over for a vehicle violation south of downtown at about 9:20 p.m. Sunday, the LAPD said.

Officers noticed a bag with an Uzi sticking out in plain sight in the car. Clark was then arrested on suspicion of having a concealed firearm in a vehicle.

He was booked into Los Angeles County jail and released Monday afternoon on $35,000 bond.

Tyrann Mathieu Wants To Finish Career With Chiefs

Jun 21, 2021 9:12 AM

Tyrann Mathieu says one of his top priorities is to finish his career with the Kansas City Chiefs.

"It's been everything I've asked for," said Mathieu, who joined the Chiefs as a free agent in 2019. "I feel I can play football anywhere, but when you develop relationships with certain people, these people become a part of your life."

Mathieu mentioned his relationships with head coach Andy Reid and three assistants: defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, secondary coach David Merritt, and strength and conditioning coach Barry Rubin.

"All of these men are important to me," Mathieu said. "I can't see me ever walking away from that relationship. I've been through a lot in my life, and so for me, I think, holding on to certain relationships, I think that kind of outweighs any monetary thing, any feeling of emotion I may be dealing with in the moment.

"For me, football comes fairly easy. When you have certain men in your life that are trying to coach the person just as much as they're coaching the player... The mental part of the game is so big for an athlete. If any athlete can find the right mental space, I think all of our games could really go to a new level. Obviously I love football, but I think having certain guys around me, I think it clears my head to focus on just the things that are in front of me.

"Kudos to my coaches for taking the time out to coach the person just as much as the player."

Le'Veon Bell Would Rather Retire Than Play For Andy Reid Again

Jun 13, 2021 12:56 PM

Le'Veon Bell says he would prefer to walk away from the NFL rather than play for Andy Reid again.

Bell, responding to a comment on Instagram about his time with the Chiefs in 2020, said, "I'd never play for Andy Reid again ... I'd retire first.''

Bell didn't specify his complaint with Reid.

Bell played in nine games for the Kansas City Chiefs last season and played sparingly.

Patrick Mahomes Sets Goal Of Going 20-0

Jun 1, 2021 8:58 AM

With the expanded NFL season, Patrick Mahomes has set his sights on doing something no one has ever done.

"The only record I have my eyes set on breaking, which would be new this year, is going 20-0," Mahomes said this past weekend at the first annual 15 and the Mahomies Aloha Golf Classic.

"That's not really a record to be broken, I guess you would say. But I think 19-0 is the record right now, so being able to go 20-0, to be the first one to do that, that would be awesome."

Mahomes is slightly mistaken. The current record is held by the 1972 Miami Dolphins, who went 17-0.

The Chiefs are 43-10 with Mahomes at quarterback.
