Andy Reid's Son In Car Crash Injuring Two Children, One Severely

Feb 5, 2021 6:29 PM

Britt Reid, the son of Andy Reid and an assistant linebackers coach with the Kansas City Chiefs, was involved in a multi-vehicle crash that injured two young children.

Britt Reid struck the left front of a stranded Impala and then hit the right rear of a Traverse.

The driver of the stranded vehicle was inside the car at the time and wasn’t injured, but the Ram truck continued forward and also struck the right rear of the Traverse.

A 5-year-old child in the backseat of the Traverse suffered life-threatening injuries and a 4-year-old, also in the backseat, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Britt Reid received non-life-threatening injuries.

According to a search warrant filed just before midnight Thursday, a KCPD officer said they could smell "a moderate odor of alcoholic beverages" and that Britt Reid's eyes were bloodshot and red.

Britt Reid told the officer he'd had two to three drinks, according to the search warrant application.

The officer wrote in the warrant that he observed signs of impairment, after which Reid complained of stomach pain and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Patrick Mahomes Focused On Winning Second Ring, Not Sixth In Future

Feb 4, 2021 8:10 AM

Patrick Mahomes is aware of the comparisons that are already being made to Tom Brady, who he'll face in Super Bowl LV on Sunday night.

While he may one day chase Brady's six championships, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is fully focused on winning his second ring.

"The goal is to win as many Super Bowls as possible and to be playing in this game every single year," Mahomes said Wednesday when asked whether he will be happy at the end of his career with 10 Super Bowl appearances and six wins, as Brady has now. "I'm going to have that mindset every time I hit the field, that I'm trying to get back to this game and I'm trying to win it.

"We don't look that far ahead. I'm focused on this game right now, trying to win this second Super Bowl and be able to hold that Lombardi trophy and have a second ring. But if I'm at the end of my career and I have a lot of Super Bowl rings on my hand, I'll be happy."
