Chiefs Thinking About 'What's Next' On Stadium

Nov 19, 2021 4:20 PM

The Kansas City Chiefs are monitoring efforts from the Kansas City Royals to build a downtown stadium.

The two teams have had companion stadiums in the same complex for nearly 50 years.

“Obviously, we’ve been connected to the Royals for almost 50 years now here at the [Truman] Sports Complex, so their decision on their long-term future will have an impact on us,” Hunt said, per Fox4KC.com. “We’re going to watch as they go through the process and at some point in the next year or so start thinking about what’s next for the Chiefs from a stadium standpoint.”

The team’s lease at Arrowhead Stadium expires in nine years. Another renovation to the venue is a possibility, according to Hunt.

If the Royals vacate their stadium, the Chiefs could conceivably build a new stadium on that site while still playing at Arrowhead.

Patrick Mahomes: I'm Going To Continue To Take Shots Downfield

Nov 11, 2021 1:27 PM

The Kansas City Chiefs have won two straight games despite scoring a total of just 33 points in those contests.

They have gone 0-for-9 on passes that have traveled at least 20 yards down the field, something Patrick Mahomes usually thrives on.

Mahomes made it clear on Wednesday that "it still tells that defense they have to back up" when the Chiefs throw deep and that means they are going to keep taking shots when they present themselves.

"I mean, I'm gonna take shots," he said. "The last few years I've take those shots, and they've worked. I've taken those shots, and they haven't worked and we've still been able to find ways to score points. Whenever I've got a guy with a chance to make a play downfield, I'm going to give him a chance to make a play."

Chiefs Acquire Melvin Ingram III From Steelers

Nov 2, 2021 10:48 AM

The Pittsburgh Steelers have traded Melvin Ingram III to the Kansas City Chiefs for a sixth round pick.

Ingram, a former Pro Bowler who spent nine seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, signed a one-year deal with the Steelers prior to training camp as a rotational outside linebacker

The Chiefs and Steelers engaged in trade talks in the last couple of weeks, but initially the Steelers opted to hold on to their pass rusher in hopes they could find a suitor that wasn't in the AFC.
