Quarterback Byron Leftwich, who was surprisingly cut on the eve of the NFL season by the Jacksonville Jaguars, has landed on his feet in Atlanta. Leftwich has agreed to a two-year deal that could be worth up to $7 million with the Falcons, sources have told FOXSports.com. Given the length and dollar amount of the contract, it's believed that Leftwich will be given the opportunity to compete with Joey Harrington for the starting job and is not being brought in merely to serve as Harrington's backup.

Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee will miss at least three weeks with a strained quadriceps muscle. Coach Jack Del Rio also said Wednesday that Scobee could be sidelined as long as six weeks, countering the kicker's claim that his injury was a two-week setback at most.

Byron Leftwich, whom the Jacksonville Jaguars cut prior to the season, is by far the best quarterback available right now, but Leftwich will want to sign with a team that will make him its quarterback of the future, and that will prevent him from joining the Giants.

Tennessee's running attack hardly missed Travis Henry. Chris Brown ran for 175 yards, Vince Young and LenDale White combined for another 88 on the ground and the Titans ran roughshod over the Jacksonville Jaguars, opening their season with a 13-10 victory Sunday.

The Jaguars added depth to their secondary Monday, signing veteran cornerback Aaron Glenn. Terms were not disclosed. Glenn, 35, spent his last two seasons with the Cowboys before being released in final cuts Saturday.
