Frank Reich Expects Philip Rivers To Play Multiple Seasons For Colts

May 19, 2020 3:27 PM

Frank Reich believes Philip Rivers will play multiple seasons with the Indianapolis Colts.

"The spirit of [negotiations] was, we're in this together and as long as Philip wants to play, wants to be here," Reich said Monday. "It's the NFL, we know he has to prove it. We have to prove it as a team to keep him wanting to play. I can just tell you from the previous relationship [with the Chargers], I really believe it's Philip's intent to play multiple years. I personally believe he's more than capable of multiple years."

The Colts signed Rivers to a one-year, $25 million deal.

Reich was a member of the Chargers' coaching staff from 2013 to 2015.

Colts Plan To Start 'Gradual And Deliberate' Opening Of Facility

May 19, 2020 9:23 AM

NFL teams are permitted to reopen their facilities beginning Tuesday as long as local regulations allow for it.

The Indianapolis Colts are one of the teams that will begin doing so.

A spokesman said that the team "spent the entire quarantine period preparing to reopen." Those preparations have led to a "gradual and deliberate" plan to bring things back to life.

The NFL is not permitting coaches and players — unless they've been rehabbing with team personnel — into the facilities until all 32 teams are able to reopen their facilities.

"It takes two sides," Hilton said. "It's up to [owner Jim] Irsay and [general manager] Chris [Ballard] to get the job done. I want to be a Colt. So you heard it from me."

Hilton is coming off the least productive season of his eight-year career.

"Whether it's two years, three years, four years," he said. "Whatever it is."
