Colts wide receiver Pierre Garcon was presented with the Warner Award, the highest honor of Pop Warner Little Scholars Inc., at a banquet Saturday in Philadelphia.
Garcon is the first active NFL player to receive the award.
Previous recipients include Myles Brand, the late NCAA president, former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue and former U.S. Congressman and USA Football chairman Jack Kemp.
"It's a real nice thing. I never could have imagined it," Garcon said.

Wayne Says Ex-Girlfriend Stole $93K
Indianapolis police are investigating after Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne claimed that an ex-girlfriend may have used his credit card number to make more than $93,000 in online purchases.
A police report filed in April said Wayne was contacted by a department store about an attempted transaction and he learned that up to 333 charges had been made on the account since September.
Mathis Wants New Deal From Colts
Colts defensive end Robert Mathis wants a new contract from the team.
The two-time Pro Bowler is avoiding ongoing organized team activities, a source told the Indianapolis Star.
The practices are voluntary, but Mathis has always participated in the past.
Mathis has two years remaining on a front-loaded $30 million contract he signed in 2006. He's due a base salary of $2.31 million this season and $2.4 million in 2011.
Colts Rookie Could Miss 2010 Season
Colts rookie cornerback Kevin Thomas injured his knee during practice last weekend and could miss the 2010 season.
Indianapolis took Thomas in the third round of April's NFL Draft.
The Colts were hoping that Thomas would fill the hole left by Marlin Jackson, who left as a free agent.
