Broncos' Walker Likely Out Against Colts

Aug 3, 2014 11:59 AM

It seems as though Denver Broncos' wide receiver Javon Walker will be unable to come back from the knee injury he suffered during last week's loss against Jacksonville to play Sunday at Indianapolis. The injury prevented Walker from practicing most of this week and now looks as if it will prevent him from playing as well. Walker, who recorded 100-yard games in the first two weeks of the season, leads the Broncos in receptions (19) and is second in yards (230). He was held to two receptions for 10 yards in last week's loss to Jacksonville.

Henry's Sprained Ankle Not Serious?

Oct 6, 2014 2:30 PM

Broncos running back Travis Henry limped off the field with a sprained ankle with less than under 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. But he returned the next series and rumbled 18 yards on five carries during the next seven offensive plays and added another critical 11-yard run as the Broncos sent the game to overtime. "It?s good. I just tweaked it," Henry said, adding the injury wasn?t significant. "I knew I had to suck it up and get back in there and help us get the win." Henry finished with 128 yards in his second straight triple-digit performance.

Denver Sues Lelie For Funds

Oct 6, 2014 2:29 PM

The Denver Broncos filed a lawsuit Friday in U.S. District Court in Denver seeking to recover $660,000 an arbitrator awarded it April 23 stemming from Ashley Lelie's contentious departure last year. The Broncos informed a judge that Lelie, the team's No. 1 draft pick in 2002, has not challenged nor complied with the previous ruling, which is a partial repayment of the original signing bonus. They want the money, plus interest to cover attorney's fees. "Whatever. It just seems a little petty," said Lelie, now with the San Francisco 49ers. "They're definitely going to get their money." Lelie said his agent and accountant have been preparing to pay back the team and were working through final details.

Denver Signs Simeon Rice

Sep 27, 2014 6:59 PM

Nobody's more excited about Denver's signing of free agent sacks specialist Simeon Rice than Broncos safety John Lynch. The two won a Super Bowl together in Tampa Bay in 2002, and both believe this reunion in the Rockies could lead to a second ring.

Broncos Leading The Race For Rice

Aug 3, 2014 11:18 PM

As Simeon Rice was getting ready to dine Sunday night with a contingent led by coach Mike Shanahan, the Broncos already were in the lead and starting to pull away. "The Broncos are better than 50-50," Rice said. "They're like 55-45, maybe 60-40. Things are leaning their way. They're classy, man. All class. I want to knock on wood, but I feel like this is the place. I feel like this is a team that will challenge for the Super Bowl and create a Camelot type of experience." Providing Shanahan's favorite restaurant didn't burn Rice's entree, the Broncos should be in good position to land one of the most productive defensive ends in NFL history. Eventually, the Broncos will have to satisfy Rice's taste for financial comfort. Nothing sells class, after all, like money, especially with the St. Louis Rams also bidding for Rice.
