Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams died from a gunshot to his neck early New Year's Day, according to an autopsy report released Tuesday.
The Denver medical examiner's report said the 23-year-old Williams was pronounced dead about 2:35 a.m. after he was shot while riding in a limousine. The report showed Williams' blood-alcohol level was 0.05 percent.

Gophers Select Broncos' Brewster As Head Coach
Denver Broncos tight ends coach Tim Brewster will become the new head coach at Minnesota, replacing the fired Glen Mason.
Gophers players were told of the hiring early Tuesday. The university scheduled a news conference for Wednesday.
Broncos Sign QB Preston Parsons
The Denver Broncos signed third-year quarterback Preston Parsons to a future contract.
Parsons, who has been on the Broncos' practice squad this season, will be added to the roster at the end of the season next month, coach Mike Shanahan said in a statement. Parsons joined the team in January 2006 after stints with Arizona and Houston.
Denver Fires Defensive Coordinator
The Denver Broncos released defensive coordinator Larry Coyer, nine days after their season came to a close with five losses in their last seven games.
Coyer oversaw a defense that started 2006 on a record pace, becoming the first team in 64 years to not allow a touchdown over the first 11 quarters and drawing comparisons to some of the NFL's best ever.

Broncos Pay Final Respects To Teammate
With an overflow crowd packing the church, the Denver Broncos on Saturday filed past the open casket of Darrent Williams, who was gunned down in a drive-by shooting on New Year's Day.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was among those at Great Commission Baptist Church, which is not far from where the 24-year-old Willliams grew up. More than an hour before the service, the line to get inside the 2,500-seat church stretched around the building.
Just before the service, Broncos players and staff members, accompanied by relatives and friends, entered through a side door and walked past the coffin. Many wiped away tears to say goodbye to "D' Will."
Several Broncos Involved In Minor Alteracation Before Shooting
Fox 31 has learned that Darrent Williams, along with teammates Javon Walker and Brandon Marshall were involved in a minor altercation with another group of people outside of Club Safari at 10th and Broadway, where Denver Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin was hosting a New Year?s Eve party.
Sources say Williams likely died instantly from a gunshot wound to the head or neck, and that he expired in Javon Walker?s lap.
Broncos' Darrent Williams Killed In Drive-By Shooting
Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting early Monday, his limousine sprayed with bullets in downtown Denver.
Team spokesman Jim Saccomano said police called him about 3 a.m. from the scene and told him three people had been shot, and the 24-year-old Williams had been killed. The killing came hours after the Broncos were eliminated from the playoff race.
