Cleveland's Wright Looking For New Deal

Oct 31, 2014 2:23 PM

Browns cornerback Eric Wright is heading into the final year of his contract and his agent says he's looking for a new pact. Agent Mitch Frankel has made it known to the team that Wright would like a long-term deal, but he knows the NFL is in uncertain times. "The situation with the league is tricky with restricted and unrestricted," he said. "I don't know what I'm going to be at the end of the year, so I'm just focusing on honing in on my role with the team and just trying to get better." Wright intercepted four passes in 2009, while also deflecting 14 passes and registering 57 solo tackles. "I feel like I have a lot of potential and ability and I feel like I can be one of the best in the game and that's what my focus is on," he said.

Mangini Says Delhomme, Wallace Will Share Snaps

Nov 2, 2014 1:49 AM

Browns coach Eric Mangini will get a look at quarterbacks Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace in training camp. "We're heading in that direction [with Delhomme as the starter], but we'll go into training camp and see what happens," Mangini said. "I think he's done a great job. On the flip side, I think Seneca has done a done a really nice job as well. [Delhomme's] been working with the ones and we're going to work Seneca with the ones as well." Mangini said the two quarterbacks would receive equal reps -- but not necessarily both with the first team. "We have enough reps in training camp for everybody to get their fill," said Mangini. "They're going to both need an equal amount of reps and that's how it will be structured -- for the one and two to get the same amount of red area, etc. They may not be with the same group, but they'll get the same amount of work in those areas."
