Quinn Not Close To Signing

Sep 25, 2014 8:14 PM

Quarterback Brady Quinn, who has held out the first three days of camp, is training in Arizona and does not appear close to signing a contract with the Browns. General Manager Phil Savage said Sunday the two sides are "right there" on some things but that they just haven't been able to get it done yet. He said he hopes that now all of Tom Condon's and Creative Artists Agency's top picks are in, Condon will concentrate on Quinn now.

"I passed it," Bentley said excitedly on the phone from New York. "I'm good to go." Bentley had a physical with Dr. Russell Warren, the New York Giants' team physician who performed two operations on the two-time Pro Bowler, whose injury was complicated by a staph infection.

Browns Sign Three Players, But Not Thomas Or Quinn

Nov 7, 2014 5:50 AM

Cleveland signed three rookies to four-year contracts on Sunday, just not the big three. With the opening of training camp a few days away, the club has not yet reached deals with offensive tackle Joe Thomas and quarterback Brady Quinn -- both first-round picks -- or cornerback Eric Wright, a second-rounder expected to compete for a starting job. The team did sign defensive back Brandon McDonald, defensive end Melila Purcell and wide receiver Syndric Steptoe.

Bentley Looking To Return

Sep 25, 2014 8:14 PM

Despite being told he'd never play football again, Browns center and hometown favorite LeCharles Bentley said this week he'll try to make a comeback this season. "I've been fortunate enough to have worked myself into a position to even think about playing football again," Bentley said in an exclusive interview with The Plain Dealer. "In spite of some major hurdles, I've been truly blessed all along the way to the point where I might possibly play this year." Bentley, who will be in Berea for the first day of training camp July 27, revealed that he has undergone four surgeries over the past 11 months instead of the two that have been previously reported.
