Edwards Works With Third Team

Oct 9, 2014 2:14 AM

Braylon Edwards didn't want to talk about his one-day absence from the Browns' voluntary practices last week. But his place in the wide receiver pecking order appeared to speak volumes how the team felt about it. Edwards took reps with the third-team offense and was the last receiver in line during position drills. "There's no significance to it at all. He's trying to learn the system," Browns coach Romeo Crennel said. "It is not the same system that was in place last year and he is trying to learn it. He did miss a day, and so he is probably just a little bit behind."

All Eyes On Quinn At Mini-Camp

Nov 9, 2014 12:06 AM

Satellite TV trucks were stacked up side-by-side and there were more media members watching from the sideline than players on the field. The Browns never had a rookie mini-camp look like this. With Brady Quinn around, nothing may ever be the same again. Wearing his familiar No. 10, and a shiny orange helmet he had dreamed of buckling on since he was a kid, Quinn practiced for the first time as a pro quarterback as the Browns began a three-day camp for their draft picks and free agents. When the 1 1/2 -hour workout ended, Quinn wanted more.

Cleveland Set To Release Andruzzi

Nov 9, 2014 12:06 AM

The Cleveland Browns opened a hole for Joe Andruzzi. The club informed the offensive guard and his agent on Wednesday they plan to release the 10-year-veteran later this week. Andruzzi's impending departure is the lastest move on Cleveland's rebuilt offensive line. In March, the Browns signed free agent guard Eric Steinbach to a seven-year $49.5 million contract and on Saturday they drafted Wisconsin tackle Joe Thomas with the No. 3 overall pick.
