ESPN/ABC Trying To Steal Sunday Night Football From NBC

Nov 3, 2020 1:06 PM

Disney/ABC/ESPN is seeking two separate NFL packages during this round of media rights negotiations, including NBC's Sunday Night Football.

ESPN spends $2 billion per year for an inferior Monday Night schedule and no Super Bowls, while NBC writes a check for a mere $950 million for Sunday Night.

NBC also has two playoff games per year compared to ESPN’s one.

ESPN's extra cost includes nearly wall-to-wall highlights on its network, which NBC, Fox and CBS don't have.

The NFL likes NBC’s Sunday presentation featuring Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth.
