Harrison Investigation Alive In Philly

Oct 31, 2014 7:28 PM

Philadelphia police are hoping a grainy video will help them find the killer of a man who alleged before he died last year that former Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison helped arrange the hit. No other evidence has surfaced to support the claim of Dwight Dixon, a 33-year-old ex-con who lapsed into a coma after he was shot July 21, 2009, and died six weeks later. According to two law enforcement sources, the July 21 video shows a gunman approach the driver's side of Dixon's Toyota Camry and shoot him five times. The shooting occurred shortly before noon on the corner of 28th Street and Girard Avenue in North Philadelphia, roughly a block from Playmakers, a bar owned by Harrison.

Court To Hear Fan Lawsuit Over Pats' Filming

Aug 12, 2014 11:03 PM

The U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia is scheduled to hear oral arguments Wednesday in a lawsuit arising from the Patriots' secret videotaping of Jets coaches in a game at Giants Stadium in 2007. The suit was filed by a Jets season ticket holder who also is an attorney in New Jersey, and it claims the Patriots' actions "violated the contractual expectations and rights of New York Jets ticketholders" who paid to watch a game played in compliance with the league's rules. Carl Mayer's lawsuit asserts that because other teams also found illicit videotaping by the defendants, Jets ticketholders should be compensated for all games played in Giants Stadium between the Jets and Patriots since Bill Belichick became head coach in 2000.
