Prosecutors say a gang member fired indiscriminately into a limousine, killing Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams and injuring two others on New Years Day 2007.
Willie Clark faces several charges, including first-degree murder, in Williams' slaying.
Williams died after a .40-caliber bullet pierced his neck, killing him almost instantly.

Hanson Sues Raiders And Cable
Former Raiders defensive assistant Randy Hanson has filed a civil lawsuit against both coach Tom Cable and the team.
Hanson was allegedly assaulted by Cable last August.
The lawsuit contains three causes of action -- assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Vincent Jackson To Serve 4 Days In Jail
Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson pleaded guilty to a DUI charge on Monday and received a four-day jail sentence and five years probation.
It is not yet known when Jackson will serve the jail time.
Jackson has been arrested twice for suspicion of driving under the influence since joining San Diego.
Miami CB Allen Charged With DUI
Miami Dolphins cornerback Will Allen was arrested and charged with a DUI early Saturday morning after revving his engine and refusing to get out of his car at a police barricade near South Beach.
Allen, 31, was arrested at 3:30 a.m. where the MacArthur Causeway connects to Alton Road, according to an arrest affidavit filed by investigators.
Tequila, Merriman Settle Dueling Lawsuits
Attorneys say Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman and reality television star Tila Tequila have settled dueling lawsuits.
Merriman was arrested by sheriff's deputies Sept. 6 after Tequila accused him of battery and false imprisonment.
Man Gets 25 Years For Robbing Texan
A man has been sentenced to a 25-year prison term for robbing Texans cornerback Dunta Robinson back in 2007.
Prosecutors in Fort Bend County say Roderick Darnell Johnson pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery on Tuesday.
Robinson, who is an unrestricted free agent, declined comment on the criminal case.
Sapp Released From Florida Jail
Warren Sapp was released from jail Sunday on $1,500 bond, a day after being arrested for allegedly choking a woman in his hotel room.
The NFL Network has pulled Sapp off the air until it investigates the matter.
"He sincerely apologizes to the NFL family and fans for taking away any distraction from today's big game," Sapp's attorney Christopher Lyons said. "We ask that everyone reserve judgment on the matter until all the facts come out in a court of law."
Sapp Questioned In Domestic Case
Warren Sapp is being pulled off the NFL Network's Super Bowl coverage because he is being questioned by Miami Beach police in a domestic violence case.
Sapp was brought in Saturday afternoon and detectives are still interviewing him, police spokesman Juan Sanchez said.
Report: Irvin Accused Of Rape
The Miami Herald is reporting that Michael Irvin has been accused of rape in a civil suit filed Thursday.
The suit, filed by a woman in Broward Circuit Court and identified as "Jane Doe," accused Irvin of raping her at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla., in 2007.
Valet Claims Dallas Fullback Pulled Gun On Him
Deon Anderson, fullback for the Cowboys, has been charged with misdemeanor deadly conduct after his arrest in a suburban restaurant parking lot.
A warrant issued Wednesday charged the 27-year-old Anderson for an incident early Tuesday at a restaurant in the Dallas suburb of Addison. He could be sentenced to up to a year in jail and fined up to $4,000.
He was freed on bond a few hours after his arrest early Tuesday.
