Hall of Fame running back Thurman Thomas opened up for the first time Friday about the effects of concussions he suffered during his 13-year NFL career.

The former Buffalo Bills star, who turns 50 next month, said at a concussion summit in Canada that he suffers from mood swings and his conditioned has worsened.

Patrick Peterson has undergone ankle surgery.

Peterson suffered the injury on Nov. 23rd.

Peterson may be able to participate in organized team activities at some point.

Jaylon Smith is not expected to play during the entire 2016 NFL season and teams are unsure when he will play again.

Smith was hurt in Notre Dame's bowl game.

Smith was a likely top-5 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Percy Harvin has informed the Buffalo Bills he'll retire from the NFL.

Frustrated with a chronic hip injury, Harvin began entertaining thoughts of retirement when the Bills placed him on injured reserve last November.

By the middle of last month, Bills general manager Doug Whaley was operating under the assumption that Harvin was leaning toward playing again in 2016.

Harvin has always been one of the NFL's most unpredictable players.

The Seattle Seahawks expect Jimmy Graham and Thomas Rawls to be ready for their opener in Week 1.

"Yeah, at this point, I would be," John Schneider said when asked if he'd be shocked if they weren't ready. "Right now, their rehab's going well. We're trying to get them ready for the season. We're not trying to get them ready to play Minnesota in the preseason."

Graham suffered a torn patellar tendon on Nov. 29th and Rawls broke his ankle on Dec. 13th.

Rawls did not undergo surgery, but wasn't running more than three months after the break.

Carlos Hyde is ready for offseason activities following foot surgery.

Hyde appeared in just seven games for the San Francisco 49ers in 2015, rushing for 470 yards and three touchdowns. Hyde's best game came in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings.

"My foot is feeling great," Hyde said Wednesday, via the 49ers' official website. "I'm good to go."

Hyde elaborated on what "good" means.

"If we played tomorrow," Hyde said, "I'd be ready to go."

Colin Kaepernick needs at least one more month of rehab before he is football-ready.

Kaepernick has had no setbacks so far in his rehab.

The San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos are discussing a trade of Kaepernick but those talks are in a holding pattern as they negotiate the financial aspects.

Thomas Rawls will be running soon as he works to recover from a broken ankle.

Rawls didn't need surgery to repair the injury.

"I'll be running soon," Rawls said Thursday.

Despite participating in just 13 games, Rawls averaged 5.6 yards per carry on 147 opportunities.
