Aug 31, 2016 11:37 AM

Bridgewater was reportedly grabbing his left knee as teammates prayed around the quarterback.

Bridgewater is entering his third season in the NFL and the Vikings were counting on him to take some major steps forward after a promising start to his career.

Shaun Hill is currently the primary backup at quarterback for the Vikings.

Mike Zimmer said Bridgwater will likely miss the entire season.

Dez Bryant Suffers Concussion In Practice

Aug 23, 2016 10:38 AM

Dez Bryant suffered a concussion during Monday's practice and will miss the Dallas Cowboys' game against the Seattle Seahawks.

"I promise I'm ok Cowboy nation .." wrote Bryant on Twitter.

In two preseason games, Bryant has four catches for 74 yards and two touchdowns, as he returns from a broken foot that required two surgeries and limited him to nine games last year.

Bryant missed five games after undergoing surgery after breaking the fifth metatarsal in his right foot the day after the season opener. He hurt his knee in his second game back and struggled to make an impact as the Cowboys suffered from substandard quarterback play.

J.J. Watt Could Be Out Through Week 2 Of Regular Season

Aug 19, 2016 2:46 PM

J.J. Watt's status for the first two weeks of the regular season with the Houston Texans remains uncertain.

Watt has been on the physically able to perform list since July 25, after he had surgery on a herniated disk in his back.

Bill O'Brien said he is encouraged by Watt's recovery and that "everything is going in the right direction."

"I don't think we can predict whether he'll be ready for Week 1 or Week 2, but he's going to be ready sooner rather than later," O'Brien said.

Watt was originally expected to miss 6-10 weeks after the surgery.

Watt has never missed a regular season game in his five NFL seasons.

Kelvin Benjamin Comfortable Without Knee Brace

Aug 19, 2016 10:58 AM

Kelvin Benjamin has no plans to wear a brace to protect the ACL he tore in his left knee last summer.

Benjamin is uncomfortable wearing the brace and the Carolina Panthers are backing his decision.

"If you put something on him and it prohibits him from being who he is, you don't gain anything," Ron Rivera said. "I would like to see him wear it, but he says he feels good and the doctors say he's doing well. So we'll just keep our fingers crossed."

Tom Brady Sits After Slicing Thumb With Scissors

Aug 19, 2016 2:47 PM

Tom Brady didn't play for the New England Patriots in Thursday's preseason game against the Chicago Bears after he sliced the thumb on his right throwing hand with a pair of scissors trying to pry something from his cleats before taking the field.

It is not known if Brady required stitches.

A source confirmed the report and said that Brady "will be OK in time."

The Patriots had planned to play Brady, who is suspended for the first four regular season games, in the game.

Brady did not play in the team's preseason opener against the New Orleans Saints after being excused to attend the memorial service of a family member.

Jimmy Graham Might Not Be Ready For Season Opener

Aug 17, 2016 5:14 PM

Jimmy Graham might not be ready for the start of the season, the Seattle Seahawks have admitted.

The tight end is still working back from a ruptured patellar tendon.

"We've had no issues at all in the work he's doing on the field," Pete Carroll said. "That will continue to increase throughout the next few weeks. Really we're shooting for: Where is he at the start of the season? And we'll evaluate then on how much longer it may take, or he may be ready. We don't know that yet. But he feels good."

The coach added: "There's some evaluation to be done going into next week, but I don't have any expectations for that right now. We'll just wait and see. We don't have a timetable for this; that he has to meet any schedule at all. We're just working him back, and he's gaining confidence, and it's really important not to have any setbacks. So we're being careful.

"With three really big weeks coming up here, we'll see how he goes. We'll be continuing to progress him more with the action around him and stuff. He's doing fine running routes and catching balls, and he looks good doing all that stuff."

Matt Forte Insists He'll Be Ready For Week One

Aug 17, 2016 8:09 AM

Matt Forte injured his hamstring just before the start of training camp, but he insists that he'll be ready for the first game of the regular season.

Forte has largely been on the sidelines with the New York Jets as part of what he calls a "super, super cautious" plan to deal with the injury.

"This is the most patience I've had to have with an injury because I've always looked forward to obviously getting out there as soon as possible," Forte said. "But at this time it's been a process. They've had to hold me back, personally, because if it were up to me I'd be going at it every day to try to be out there on my own terms. But you don't want to do something where -- a lot of times they have to protect me from myself, so I don't overwork or do something where I have a setback."

Forte only worked in individual drills for the third time on Tuesday, but says he'll "definitely" be ready for the team's opener against the Cincinnati Bengals on September 11 even if he doesn't take any snaps in a preseason game.

Vance Walker Likely Out For 2016 With Torn ACL

Aug 15, 2016 10:23 PM

Vance Walker will likely miss the entire 2016 season for the Denver Broncos with a torn right ACL.

Walker was expected to nail down a starting role as the replacement for 2015 breakout star Malik Jackson, who signed a mega contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars in March.

"We think the world of Vance and he was having a great camp," Gary Kubiak said, via the team's official website. "We'll support him through his recovery, and he'll come back stronger than ever."

The Broncos will turn to former Texans defensive end Jared Crick, former Colts veteran Billy Winn and second-round draft pick Adam Gotsis alongside Sylvester Williams and Derek Wolfe on the defensive line.
