Jim Irsay Arrested On DWI, Possession Charges

Oct 16, 2014 12:50 PM

Jim Irsay was arrested late Sunday night on preliminary charges of driving while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance.

Irsay tweeted on Oct. 21, 2013, that he hadn't had a drink in more than 15 years. He admitted in a statement in 2002 that he had an addiction to pain killers.

“There are people around the Colts organization who have been suspicious about some of his behavior,” Adam Schefter said Monday morning onSportsCenter.

Irsay has previously acknowledged his struggles with addiction.

Irsay will be subject to discipline from Roger Goodell.

“He’s a sick, sick man,” one source told Bob Kravitz of the Indianapolis Star. “He desperately needs help.”

Irsay had lost 70 pounds down to 165.

Brandon Browner Reinstated By NFL

Oct 13, 2014 6:24 AM

Brandon Browner has been reinstated by the NFL.

Browner was previously suspended until December of 2014. It is unclear if he will have a minor suspension and whether he will be available in Week 1.

“I received wonderful news today,” Browner said. “The NFL has reinstated me, and I now have the opportunity to prove to the fans and my teammates how important this sport is to me. I realize now more than ever that being part of the NFL is not a right, but a privilege. I am grateful that Commissioner Goodell and my agent were able to resolve this issue in a positive, productive manner so I can continue my career, provide for my family, and help my team win a Super Bowl. Thank you to all who have gone out of their way to show their support. I will live up to your expectations of me.”

Browner joins a crowded list of free agent cornerbacks and is unlikely to return to the Seattle Seahawks..
