The Titans selected Rutgers wide receiver Kenny Britt in the first round of this past weekend's NFL Draft after he received a glowing recommendation from Rod Smith.
Smith, a three-time Pro Bowler with 14 seasons of NFL experience, worked out with Britt prior to the draft and helped Tennessee offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger with the decision.
Heimerdinger spent time with Smith in Denver.
"I'd do anything for Mike," said Smith. "Trust me, I know for a fact if Mike Heimerdinger didn't come into my career when he did there would be no two Super Bowl rings for me and everything else I had in my career. I tell him that all the time.
"So Kenny couldn't be going to a better spot. I learned everything from Mike, and now Kenny's going to get it first-hand himself. They're going to be great for one another."

Titans, Cardinals Talk Boldin Trade
The Titans have been in contact with the Cardinals about making a trade for Anquan Boldin, sources familiar with the situation said, nothing appears imminent with the draft now just a day away.
"It's safe to say we're always trying to get the team better, so we'll continue to monitor various situations," Mike Reinfeldt said, declining to discuss Boldin specifically. "But there's a numbers of players that are discussed at this point and time. That's kind of the way it works.''
Vince Young Vows To Avoid 'Hoopla'
Titans quarterback Vince Young says that he is content to play behind Kerry Collins and vows not "get into the hoopla any more."
"I am just going to keep my mouth closed, man," Young said, according to The Tennessean. "All I am doing this year is shutting up, just shutting up and working. I am going to smile and shut up and continue being Vince Young, a happy smiling guy. I am not going to get into the hoopla any more because of the fact I can't win any more, I see.
"I am just going to shut my mouth and play my role, and if they need me then I will be available as a weapon."

Chris Johnson Trying To Kick Fast Food Habit
Titans' running back Chris Johnson is trying to kick his fast food habit.
Johnson, who's been working out in Orlando this offseason, said he'd liked to play the entire season right around 200 pounds. It's where he started last season, but he slipped to around 194 pounds later in the year and said he lost some of his strength.
"I wasn't eating right sometimes. I just have to take a few more steps to continue to get better," Johnson said. "Instead of eating at McDonald's after practice or something, just have a regular good meal and keep that weight at 200. I plan on doing that.''
Titans Looking At Ramsey, Leftwich And Grossman?
The Titans are looking to bring in a third quarterback behind Kerry Collins and Vince Young and have options in Patrick Ramsey, Byron Leftwich and Rex Grossman.
"We usually bring three or four quarterbacks to camp, and it makes sense to bring one in with experience," coach Jeff Fisher said. "We're still in the process. We've been in touch with Patrick. Patrick knows Mike [Heimerdinger] and knows the system. So it's not something that we need to get done yesterday.
"There are a number of veteran quarterbacks out there. Typically speaking, those that are out there usually wait to make sure they're getting the right fit. It's just the process we?re going through."
Titans: We Didn't Try To Get Cutler
The Bears traded for quarterback Jay Cutler on Thursday, and the Titans insist that they didn't make a play for the former Broncos gunslinger.
"Any time a good player like that is made available for trade there's interest, but we didn't have any discussions," coach Jeff Fisher said. "We have two quarterbacks. We might have been one of the teams he wanted to play for, which you could understand him wanting to come back home."
