Crumpler: Vick Deserves Second Chance

Oct 9, 2014 10:59 PM

Titans tight end Alge Crumpler, a former teammate of Michael Vick with the Falcons, wants to see the quarterback receive a second chance. "I know he has had a lot of time to reflect. I definitely support his efforts at re-entering society and hope the public understands that he's paid his debts. I know he's remorseful," Crumpler told the Tennessean on Thursday. "But nothing I can say matters. It's all about Mike's actions, what he does, how people perceive the things that he does and how he reaches out and tries to help people understand the things that he's lost. "Football is the least of the things that he's lost. He's lost some people's respect, he's lost monetary benefits and he's lost his freedom. And hopefully one day at a time he can work to gain a good livelihood and hopefully, football, if given a chance, will be something that he'll be able to get back to. I definitely support his efforts if he wants to come back and play because I am a big fan of Michael the person. My family is big fans of him."

Bulluck Doesn't Think Future Is With Titans

Oct 31, 2014 4:45 PM

Titans linebacker Keith Bulluck doesn't believe that he'll be with the club past this season. Bulluck, entering his tenth NFL season, sees this year as his last in Tennessee. "I think so, yeah. And I have no reason to believe that it isn't," Bulluck said. "But I don't look at it as something that makes me sad. I really don't. I have seen great players come here and go, players you'd think would finish their careers here and didn't. But I know how things work, and know it isn't personal. "The circumstances for me this year are different. I am kind of approaching this year like it's my senior year in college."

Titans Haven't Committed To Signing Bennett

Jul 10, 2014 12:23 PM

The Titans are looking for a veteran receiver, but they haven't committed to signing Drew Bennett. Bennett, who spent six seasons with the Titans, visited the team and underwent a physical last week. "Players that are out there, that are available, that are free agents, you just want to bring them in and get them checked out in case there's some interest down the line," Titans coach Jeff Fisher said Sunday. Fisher added that Bennett's presence in the locker room would be valued. "We just brought him in to see what kind of health he's in, what his status was," Fisher said. "But in the event something like that (signing Bennett) were to happen, we would never bring anybody in just for the locker room. We're going to bring in somebody that can score touchdowns for us, and I think Drew still has some touchdowns left."

Collins Uses Song Writing As An Outlet

Oct 10, 2014 11:48 AM

Titans quarterback Kerry Collins has used song writing as an outlet to cope with some of his life experiences. "It's something I didn't foresee happening," said Collins. "I came to Nashville, I never even thought about writing songs and never even thought that that would be something I'd ever have the opportunity to do," he added. "I started meeting people and had the opportunity to write with some great people, and it just kind of took off from there." Collins was an All-American in college and the first-ever pick by a franchise, but has also been released by a team and struggled with alcoholism.

Titans' Johnson Wants To Win MVP, Rushing Title

Oct 31, 2014 4:45 PM

Titans running back Chris Johnson made the Pro Bowl in his rookie season and has set loftier goals for his sophomore campaign. "I want to be NFL MVP, and lead the league in rushing," Johnson said. "I want to be named to another Pro Bowl. I like to set my goals high, and everything is possible." Tennessee has said that they'd like to give Johnson, who split time with LenDale White last season, more touches in 2009. "There's places we can move him, routes we can run with him, looks we can do with him that we held back last year because I thought I was stretching him too much," offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger said. "But C.J. needs to show he can do those things and he'll work at it. And the more he shows the more we can give him. If C.J. wants to learn it and work at it then we have a chance to move him all around the place."

Bennett: I'd Be Happy In Role With Titans

Jul 26, 2014 2:54 AM

Former Titans receiver Drew Bennett said Monday that he would be fine signing on as a complementary player. Bennett visited with the team on Monday, taking a physical and meeting with the coaching staff and director of pro personnel Lake Dawson. "I feel like if something gets done here that I can come in and help complement the guys they have," said Bennett, who was released in March by the Rams. "I know I wouldn't be coming in as a No. 1 guy. They have a lot invested in guys like Nate [Washington] and Justin Gage and also the first-round pick [Kenny Britt]. But I think I could come in and compete and complement those guys, maybe fill in some holes and work in certain packages."
