Titans To Keep Chris Johnson

Oct 1, 2014 3:46 AM

The Tennessee Titans plan on keeping Chris Johnson in 2013, according to sources.

Johnson’s base salary this season is $8 million. He’s under contract through 2016, with scheduled base salaries of $10 million (2013), $8 million (2014), $8 million (2015) and $7 million (2016). None of the salaries beyond this year are guaranteed at this point.

“We want C.J. to finish strong and we are assuming he’s going to be here next year,” Mike Munchak said. “Forge ahead, baby. How many years is he signed for? We feel good about C.J. and we are headed in the right direction there. I expect him to be back.”

Britt Still Not Fully Back From Knee Surgeries

Oct 1, 2014 3:46 AM

Kenny Britt is still not all the way back from the three knee surgeries he has undergone since October of 2011.

Britt had eight catches for 143 yards last week.

“I’m not totally 100 percent,” Britt said Thursday. “My left knee still swells up on me sometimes and my ACL knee still bothers me a little bit. So I’m not going to feel 100 percent at all through this whole season, but I’m back close to where I was last year.

“It’s very hard to accept, especially going out there in practice and coming back in and watching some of my routes out there. That looks sloppy. It doesn’t even look like a pro receiver.”
