Bruce Arians Implementing Own COVID Rules For Buccaneers' Trips

Aug 26, 2021 9:48 AM

Bruce Arians says he is implementing his own rules outside the NFL's COVID-19 protocols for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In advance of their first road game this year -- the third preseason game, at the Houston Texans -- Arians said that even vaccinated players won't be allowed to leave the team hotel or have family visit the hotel on road trips.

Buccaneers kicker Ryan Succop tested positive for COVID-19 after having dinner with members of the Tennessee Titans during joint practices earlier this week.

"For us, life is not normal," Arians said. "We're pretty much under the same protocols -- we're going to be under the same protocols as last year. Because that's the way it is, especially living here. Tennessee coming in and going out to dinner -- they found out the hard way. So did Ryan. You can only tell them so much. Once we get to 53 -- even this weekend -- our guys are going to make a bunch of sacrifices that you have to make now. Families at the hotel, all those things -- they're all out the window."

Mike Vrabel Tests Positive For COVID-19

Aug 23, 2021 9:44 AM

Mike Vrabel has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Tennessee Titans spent last week taking part in joint practices with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buccaneers are currently waiting on contact tracing.

Vrabel said he will get re-tested Monday. He is currently in quarantine and following protocols.

"What it comes down to is you have to have two negative tests within a 48-hour period," Vrabel said. "If that happens then I can get back into the building. If not, I'll have to wait 10 days."

Tom Brady: Ryan Tannehill Wasn't The 'Expletive' QB

Aug 19, 2021 10:00 AM

During an appearance on HBO's The Shop: Uninterrupted earlier this offseason, Tom Brady sparked debate on who he was referring to when he said an NFL team decided to stick with their quarterback rather than fully pursue the seven-time Super Bowl champion when he hit free agency in 2020.

Brady revealed his reaction to the team's decision was to say "you're sticking with that mother******?" in reference to the club's current quarterback.

While the jury is still out on who Brady was referring to, you can cross Ryan Tannehill and the Tennessee Titans of the list.

When asked on Wednesday if Tannehill was the quarterback he was referring to, Brady dismissed that possibility saying he wasn't.

"I like Ryan a lot," Brady said. "I think he's a great player. Obviously a great leader for the team and done a great job. Last year was phenomenal, year before that was great. I really like competing against him a lot, he's beaten me quite a few times."

Todd Bowles, Buccaneers Agree To Three-Year Extension

Aug 4, 2021 1:12 PM

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have agreed to sign Todd Bowles to a three-year contract extension that continues to make him the NFL's highest-paid defensive coordinator.

Bowles did have one year left on his deal, but this contract replaces that, and doesn’t preclude him from taking another head coaching job.

Bowles was previously head coach of the New York Jets.
