Bruce Arians On Bringing AB Back: 'History Has Changed'

Dec 21, 2021 8:48 AM

Bruce Arians has detailed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' decision to allow Antonio Brown back despite saying last year that if Brown "screws up one time, he's done."

An NFL investigation found that Brown and Mike Edwards had turned in fake vaccination cards, a violation of NFL rules and a federal crime. Each was suspended three games.

"Well, the history has changed since that statement," Arians said. "A lot of things went on last year that I was very proud of him. And I made a decision that was best for our football team."

Brown was found to have produced a fake COVID-19 vaccine card.

On Friday, Bruce Arians indicated that a decision had been made, though he didn't announce it.

"It's just a matter of making a statement, and whether I do it before this game or after, we'll wait and see," Arians told reporters. "But I don't want anything distracting from this game."

"I can't keep up with him," Bruce Arians said jokingly. "I don't think there will be any records left when he's done."

Heading into Sunday, Brady needed 18 completions to pass Brees (who held the NFL record with 7,142) and add to his list of career milestones. He finished with 31, giving him 7,156 for his career.
