Buccaneers Choose To Wear White Jerseys For Super Bowl

Jan 27, 2021 8:54 PM

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have chosen to wear their white jerseys with pewter pants for the Super Bowl despite being the designated home team.

Tom Brady has a 4-1 record while wearing white in Super Bowls, while 13 of the past 16 champions have worn white jerseys.

But the Kansas City Chiefs wore red in last year's Super bowl in over the 49ers. The Chiefs also wore red in their Super Bowl IV win over the Vikings.

Tom Brady Sr. Guesses Bill Belichick Is On 'Hot Seat Right Now'

Jan 27, 2021 8:15 AM

Tom Brady Sr. spoke to the Boston Herald after his son advanced to the Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this past weekend.

Brady Sr. noted that his son received a congratulatory message from New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

"Robert's been a spectacular owner for 25 years. He is sincere in his feelings for Tommy when he expresses his feelings, and it's vice versa," the elder Brady said. "Tommy feels the same way with Robert Kraft. He has an extraordinarily close relationship with him. I know Robert is rooting for Tommy right now. As I know Jonathan, Danny and the whole family. There's no question about that."

He notably omitted Bill Belichick. When asked, Brady Sr. speculated about his son's former coach.

"I'm guessing he's on a little bit of a hot seat right now," Brady Sr. said.

Chiefs Open As Consensus Favorites Over Buccaneers In Super Bowl LV

Jan 25, 2021 8:57 AM

The Kansas City Chiefs have opened as consensus 3-point favorites over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV.

The line was trending up Sunday night, with some sportsbooks moving the Chiefs to -3.5

Barring significant movement, it will be just the second time Tom Brady has been an underdog in his 10 Super Bowl appearances. In his Super Bowl debut, Brady and the New England Patriots were 14-point underdogs against the St. Louis Rams in 2002, a game the Patriots won outright.

Drew Brees: Playoff Matchup With Tom Brady Was 'Inevitable'

Jan 11, 2021 8:34 AM

Drew Brees and Tom Brady will face off in a playoff game for the first time in their storied careers when the New Orleans Saints face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next weekend.

"I guess it was inevitable," Brees said. "Listen, the minute that he signed with the Bucs and came in the division, you felt like that was gonna be a team to contend with. That was gonna be a team that had playoff aspirations and beyond, just like us."

Brees, who will turn 42 on Friday, saw the Saints get the better of Brady, 43, and the Buccaneers in the regular season with wins in Week 1 and Week 9.

Chase Young Not Sorry For 'I Want Tom' Talk

Jan 7, 2021 8:34 AM

Chase Young made it clear this past Sunday night that he wanted to face Tom Brady and that hasn't changed even though some tried to turn his comments into bulletin board material.

After Sunday's NFC East title-clinching win, Young was caught on camera saying, "Tom Brady, Tom Brady, I'm coming! I want Tom! I want Tom."

The Washington Football Team will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this weekend in the Wild Card round.

"I play ball," Young said. "I'm excited to go against the best. The media, their job is to stir it up. If you know me, I'm excited for every game. Tom Brady, you think I'm not excited to play against the GOAT? You trippin'. I'm not going to apologize for saying I want Tom. No, I want every quarterback I play against."

Earlier this week, Ron Rivera said it will become "bulletin board material" for Tampa.

"They'll have fun with it. You've got to chalk it up to youthful exuberance, but that's who Chase is," Rivera said. "I do cringe, but at the same time I smile at it because he loves playing the game. I think that's what it's all about. That's who Chase is. That's the kind of guy we want on our football team."

No Structural Damage To Mike Evans' Knee

Jan 4, 2021 8:57 AM

Mike Evans left Sunday's game after hyperextending his left knee in the end zone.

"I think the life in the stadium really just got sucked out of it," Chris Godwin said. "And I think that's really when you see how important Mike is to this team, this organization and to this city."

Evans' MRI revealed no structural damage to his knee, a source confirmed to ESPN. The source said it's too soon to tell whether Evans will play next week in the playoffs, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are hopeful.

Evans set an NFL record by becoming the first NFL player to record 1,000 receiving yards in his first seven seasons.
