The Seahawks traded Darrell Jackson, their leading wide receiver, to San Francisco on Sunday for a fourth-round draft choice, No. 124 overall.
Jackson was leading the NFL in touchdown receptions late last season before he sustained a turf toe injury and missed three games. He became expendable when Seattle acquired Deion Branch from New England last September, then signed the former Super Bowl MVP to a $39 million contract.

Darrell Jackson To San Francisco?
The San Francisco 49ers, one of the more aggressive teams this offseason in terms of acquisitions, enter this weekend's draft with a league-high eight picks in the first four rounds: one first-round selection, a second, two thirds and four fourths.
On the eve of the draft, the Niners already were poised to maximize the value of one of those fourth-round picks.
According to league sources, San Francisco and division rival Seattle are working toward a trade that would send Seahawks wide receiver Darrell Jackson to the Niners in exchange for one of their fourth-rounders, believed to be the Niners' third selection in the round, No. 124 overall. The New Orleans Saints and Tennessee Titans, whose new general manager Mike Reinfeldt came over from Seattle, are also believed to be talking with Seattle about Jackson.
Hasselbeck's Recovery Ahead Of Schedule
Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck will participate in the Seahawks' first minicamp early next month, eliminating initial fears that he might not return from surgery on his non-throwing shoulder until summer.
Seahawks president and GM Tim Ruskell said Wednesday that the 2006 Super Bowl and Pro Bowl quarterback's recovery is far ahead of schedule. Immediately after Hasselbeck's operation to reattach the labrum in his left shoulder on Jan. 18, the Seahawks said he would be ready for training camp in July, if not sooner.
Seahawks Bring Back Chris Gray
Spurned by their primary offseason target for bolstering the offensive line, the Seahawks are instead bringing back veteran guard Chris Gray.
Gray will be starting his 15th season -- his 10th with the Seahawks. His team record of 121 consecutive starts ended last Dec. 31 in the regular season finale because of a bruised right quadriceps, but he returned to start both Seattle's playoff games in January.
He will get a two-year contract worth $2.1 in base salary plus bonuses.
Cheifs' G Will Sheilds Retires
Kansas City Chiefs guard Will Shields, an ironman at his position, announced his retirement from the NFL on Sunday.
In a statement on his Web site, Shields said his "decision to hang up my cleats has not been an easy one to make for me but one I knew I would eventually have to make."
The 35-year-old Shields missed just one game over his career, and that was during his rookie campaign in 1993 with the Chiefs. He was chosen to 12 straight Pro Bowls to end his career, the longest active streak in the NFL and a Chiefs record.
"Today, I am letting everyone know that I am putting away my pads," Shields said on his Web Site. "I am looking forward to a future filled with sports in mind. Whether it is in the stands, on the sideline, in the press box or in a office, football will remain in my blood."

Warren Moon was arrested for drunken driving early Friday morning in Kirkland, a suburb of Seattle.
Moon was pulled over around 2 a.m. Friday when a state trooper in downtown Kirkland saw him speeding, trooper Courtney Stewart said.
"Upon investigation, the trooper ended up arresting him for DUI," Stewart said.
Carr Meets With Carolina, Potentially Seattle On Wednesday
Quarterback David Carr might meet with the Seahawks on Wednesday.
Carr, who was released last week by the Houston Texans, was in Carolina to meet with the Panthers Tuesday.
NFL To Cancel China Bowl
The NFL is expected to announce early this week the cancellation of a game between the Seahawks and New England Patriots that was scheduled to be played in Beijing at Workers Stadium on Aug. 9, league sources confirmed Sunday night.
The league does not think the Chinese are ready to host the game and that the teams involved also are having problems preparing for what was to be the first NFL game in China.
