Le'Veon Bell Upset Over Training Camp Usage

Aug 27, 2020 8:52 AM

Le'Veon Bell wants the New York Jets to use him more in training camp practices.

Bell used Twitter to question why he spent the latter half of Wednesday's practice on the sideline.

Adam Gase later told reporters that Bell was removed from practice as a precaution because of hamstring tightness.

Minutes after Gase's Zoom call, Bell retweeted an injury update from the Jets' in-house reporter, adding, "ain't nothing wrong with my hamstrings." In follow-up tweets, Bell said "its tough to stay loose when you do a bunch of standing around."

The relationship between Gase and Bell has been under the microscope since the Jets signed the running back in March 2019.

NFL's 32 Teams Collectively Worth $99 Billion

Aug 26, 2020 1:29 PM

The average NFL franchise is worth more than $3 billion, according to data compiled by Sportico.

The Dallas Cowboys rank first in the NFL at $6.43 billion with the Cincinnati Bengals ranking last at $2.12 billion.

The fair-market value of the NFL's 32 franchises collectively is $99 billion when considering team-related businesses and real estate held by owners.

The teams’ $15.83 billion in revenue in the last fiscal year, which represents the 2019 season, was greater than that of 298 companies on the Fortune 500. That averages to about $495 million per team.

In 2019, the Cowboys generated an estimated $871 million in revenue, which was 81% greater than the average of the other 31 teams.

Chris Hogan Signs With Jets

Aug 16, 2020 1:56 PM

Chris Hogan has agreed to sign with the New York Jets.

Hogan played for the Buffalo Bills (2012-2015) and Patriots (2016-2018) and spent time on the Miami Dolphins' roster (2011-2012), but he never appeared in a game. Hogan spent last season with the Carolina Panthers.

"He's somebody whose name has come up quite a bit," Adam Gase said of Hogan. "He's a guy who can come in and pick up the offense very quickly. Obviously, we competed against him quite a bit. He's a good fit for us."

Jets DC: Jamal Adams 'May Get Bored' In Seattle's Scheme

Aug 14, 2020 9:08 AM

New York Jets defensive coordinator Gregg Williams took some shots at the scheme of the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday.

Williams was commenting for the first time on the trade that sent Jamal Adams from the Jets to the Seahawks. He was asked if the departure of Adams would change the way he deployed New York's safeties.

"It really doesn't. We're very multiple with how we do those things anyway," he said.

Then Williams added, "Jamal may get bored there because they don't use their safety-type things with all the complexities ... uh, maybe not showing what they're doing as much as we do."

Williams was referencing to the Seahawks' hallmark Cover 3 scheme, which is considered vanilla compared to Williams' ever-changing fronts and disguises.
