Frank Gore On Going 0-16: 'I Can't Go Out Like That'

Nov 23, 2020 9:23 AM

The New York Jets fell to 0-10 on Sunday, putting them in jeopardy of becoming just the third NFL team to have a winless season.

Frank Gore, 37, doesn't know if he'll play next season and wants to make sure he doesn't end his career with an 0-16 mark.

"You don't want to go 0-16, especially if this is my last year," he said. "I can't go out like that.

"Hopefully, we can get one. And I can't wait until we get it. I'll be so happy. If it is my last year, I can't say I'm going out 0-16."

Gore has 15,794 yards, trailing only Walter Payton (16,726) and Emmitt Smith (18,355) on the all-time list.

Nov 4, 2020 4:06 PM

Joe Douglas has given Adam Gase a vote of confidence as the coach of the New York Jets and is now giving a nod to Sam Darnold.

In an interview, Douglas called Darnold the "quarterback for the future" for the Jets.

"I feel like he has a different set of wide receivers every week," Douglas said. "I think you see the flashes of what he can be, and they're really special. Let's not forget that Sam's a 23-year-old quarterback that is maybe one of the toughest quarterbacks I've ever been around. I'm very excited about Sam.

"I have no problem saying that he is our best quarterback and our quarterback for the future."
