Adam Gase Hints Jets Could Add More Offensive Additions

Apr 29, 2020 10:01 AM

The New York Jets have been focused on adding weapons for Sam Darnold and Adam Gase hints they may not be done.

New York drafted tackle Mekhi Becton and wide receiver Denzel Mims. They also signed four offensive linemen and Breshad Perriman in free agency.

"I know everybody keeps focusing on the wide receivers, which I think is going to be a pretty good group," Gase said. "I look at our tight ends, our running backs, I feel like we're in a good spot. Who knows what will be added from here on out?"

Jets Want To Keep Jamal Adams Long-Term

Apr 20, 2020 2:51 PM

The New York Jets want to keep Jamal Adams long-term, but haven't completely ruled out a trade.

"The plan would be for Jamal to be here long term," Joe Douglas said in a pre-draft conference call with reporters. "Again, I've also made it known I have to do what's in the best interest of the team. If other teams call to talk about players, I'll listen.

"Going into this draft, my intent isn't to move any players. But if a team calls, we're going to have conversations."

Adams plans to skip the voluntary offseason programs as he's unhappy with his contract status. Adams is signed for 2020 and 2021. Adams wants to become the NFL's highest-paid safety.
