Quincy Enunwa Hasn't Given Up On Playing Again

May 28, 2020 9:34 AM

Quincy Enunwa, battling a career-threatening neck injury that will keep him off the field in 2020, still hopes to play football again.

The New York Jets wide receiver said it was "devastating" to learn recently he had been ruled out for the season.

"If I'm capable of playing, then that's what I'll do," Enunwa said. "If it comes down to the fact that the doctors say I can't, there's not much I can do. There's really nothing I can do there, but if I have the ability to [play], the passion will always be there, the want-to will always be there.

"I think, aside from obviously my neck, the physical ability will always be there. It's really just about me going for the ride, I guess, because I'm not in control of that part anymore."

Jets Unlikely To Extend, Trade Jamal Adams In Near Future

May 26, 2020 9:19 AM

No change is imminent for Jamal Adams, according to a report.

The safety is seeking a long-term deal and the New York Jets want to sign him to one, but trade rumors have persisted.

"The Jets would like to do a long-term deal, they're just in the situation of basically every other team right now in the NFL of making sure that everything is going according to plan, making sure that the season really does start on time before they dig into some long-term extensions," Ian Rapoport reported on NFL Network.

"Of course, Jamal Adams wants one right now, who doesn't? It does not sound like that's going to happen."

Rapoport hasn't ruled out the Dallas Cowboys making a run at a trade for Adams if they are able to extend Dak Prescott.

Jamal Adams, Jets Reach Impasse On Extension Talks

May 21, 2020 9:13 PM

Jamal Adams and the New York Jets have reached an impasse in their contract talks with tensions rising.

Adams is seeking a deal before the start of the season, but the Jets prefer to wait on a long-term extension. The Adams camp is upset, claiming the Jets are dragging their feet.

The possibility of a trade came up in a conversation between the two sides on Wednesday. The Jets remain intent on signing Adams to an extension and have no desire to trade him.

Adams is eligible for a new contract now that he has completed his third season. Adams is due to make $3.5 million in 2020. His salary jumps to $9.9 million in 2021, the amount of his fifth-year option.

Jets' C.J. Mosley: 'Crazy Move' To Trade Jamal Adams

May 12, 2020 8:23 AM

C.J. Mosley doesn't believe rumors that the New York Jets could trade Jamal Adams.

"To me, I wasn't too worried about that," Mosley said. "That would be a crazy move."

Mosley was limited by a groin injury in his first season with the Jets. He played just two games. He pointed out that Adams, a premier safety entering his fourth year, is a leader on New York's defense.

"First of all, he's one of the leaders on the team," Mosley said. "That's first and foremost. He brings that extra energy whether guys want it or not. Sometimes you might be tired or not feeling good, but as soon as he steps on the field, you're going to hear that voice and he'll be flying around. To have that presence in the secondary, a guy that can make plays in the passing game and also plays in the backfield -- in the box -- that's always exciting."

Sam Darnold: Jets Won't Take The Patriots Any More Lightly

May 6, 2020 11:03 AM

There has been a lot of change in the AFC East this offseason, but Sam Darnold won't view the division's dominating force any differently.

Tom Brady left the New England Patriots for the NFC, the Buffalo Bills traded for Stefon Diggs and the Miami Dolphins drafted Tua Tagovailoa. The loss of Brady in New England, obviously, generated the biggest headlines.

"For us, every single game in the NFL is a tough one, and I think any player can attest to that," Darnold said. "So we're not going to take anyone more or less lightly just because — even though one of the greatest players, if not the greatest player of all time, left the organization. We're not going to take [the Patriots] any more lightly."
