The New York Jets have agreed upon contract extensions with Todd Bowles and Mike Maccagnan through 2020.

Both Bowles and Maccagnan have been in their current positions since 2015.

There has been uncertainty over whether Bowles might leave the Jets for another head coaching position.

The NFL has five teams ranking in the top-10 in DVOA on both Offense and Defense after Week 14. In an indication of how much turnover there's been in parts of the NFL, none of those five teams (Rams, Eagles, Vikings, Saints and Chargers) made the playoffs in 2016.

The Chiefs, Cowboys, Steelers, Falcons and Patriots also rank in the top-10 on offense, while the Jaguars, Broncos, Panthers, Ravens and Cardinals rank in the top-10 on defense.

The Seahawks, who have consistently been one of the NFL's top teams in DVOA during the Russell Wilson era, are just outside the top-10 in both categories.

Josh McCown will miss the remainder of the 2017 season with fractured left hand.

"It's big for him and it's big for us because he's been leading us all year, offensively," said Todd Bowles, explaining the impact of the injury. "For him to go down this late in the season ... it's the next-man-up mentality. The next guy has to step up."

The Jets have lost six of their past eight games.

Bryce Petty will start for the Jets in place ot McCown to finish the season.

Josh McCown will start at quarterback for the New York Jets for the remainder of the season and perhaps beyond that as well.

Todd Bowles said Thursday that he isn't thinking that far ahead, but offensive coordinator John Morton said McCown is "perfect" for New York's offense.

"Sure. Why wouldn't I?" Morton said when asked about endorsing McCown as the starter in 2018 as well. "Look at the stats. But I don't make that decision. You can ask the head coach that and the people upstairs."
