Free agent running back Ezekiel Elliott is scheduled to visit the New England Patriots on Saturday, a source confirmed to ESPN.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick spoke directly to Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones for insight and evaluation of the former two-time NFL rushing champion before inviting the running back to to meet, a source told ESPN's Ed Werder.

It appears as though the New England Patriots are looking for running back depth.

The Patriots hosted Leonard Fournette and Darrell Henderson for workouts, according to reports.

New England has Rhamondre Stevenson, who totaled 1,400 scrimmage yards in 2022, but lost Damien Harris in free agency.

DeAndre Hopkins continues to look for his next team and has no interest in retiring.

"I'll retire from football when I'm not a 1k-yard receiver," Hopkins wrote on Threads. "With that said, I was on pace for 1,400 yards last year -- one significant injury in 11 years. I might be playing till I'm 37 the way I feel."

Hopkins was released by the Arizona Cardinals on May 26th. Hopkins has visited with the New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans in the subsequent weeks. Both of those teams remain interested in signing Hopkins.
