Bill Belichick Has Seen 'Dramatic Improvement' In Mac Jones

Jul 27, 2022 10:09 AM

We've seen a number of quarterbacks make a huge leap in Year 2 as of late and Bill Belichick believes the New England Patriots have one of their own.

"I think [Mac Jones has] done a great job. He's worked extremely hard. He's got a tremendous work ethic. In all areas, I think there's a dramatic improvement," Belichick said of his quarterback.

"His physical work and conditioning, working on his mechanics, working on his footwork, working on his understanding of our offense, of opponent defenses, of situations. ... He's made tremendous strides. He did a great job last year, but he's starting from a much, much higher point this year than where he started last year. His offseason work has been significant, and I think everyone recognizes how well he prepares and how much further along he [is] than he was a year ago."

Tom Brady Could Top 100,000 Combined Passing Yards

Jul 22, 2022 9:21 AM

Tom Brady is poised to surpass 100,000 career passing yards when you combine the regular season and playoffs.

Brady enters the 2022 season with 97,569 career passing yards, 84,520 in the regular season and 13,049 in the postseason. He'd need just 2,431 yards to reach the 100,000 mark.

If he averages 313 yards a game this year, which he did in 2021, he'll top 100,000 yards in Tampa Bay's eighth game of the season, which is a Thursday night home game against the Baltimore Ravens on October 27.

Jason McCourty Retires After 13 NFL Seasons

Jul 18, 2022 8:46 AM

Jason McCourty has announced his retirement from the NFL, marking the end of a 13-season career for the former sixth-round draft pick.

Drafted by the Tennessee Titans in 2009, McCourty also played for the winless Cleveland Browns in 2017 and won a Super Bowl with the New England Patriots in 2018.

"These past 13 seasons have been one hell of a journey," Jason McCourty said in an Instagram post. "And as I reflect and look back on my career, I have far surpassed any and every expectation I set for myself back in 2009 -- and that's what I'm most proud of when I look back at my career."

McCourty signed with the Miami Dolphins in 2021, playing seven games before being placed on season-ending injured reserve in October 2021.
