Dolphins Could Start Rookie Receiver

Oct 1, 2014 4:38 PM

Dolphins rookie wide receiver Brian Hartline has been very impressive thus far. He caught three passes for 79 yards in Miami's 10-6 win over Tampa Bay on Thursday night. Many believe that the Dolphins will name Hartline a starting receiver, but coach Tony Sparano wouldn't admit anything. "I got to watch the film," Sparano told the Miami Herald. "I like what he did, OK? He did make some big plays, which is critical. One of the things we have to do a better job of on offense is we can't take 15 plays to score every touchdown. We have to get some chunk yards and Hartline was able to make some chunk yards tonight. [Greg] Camarillo was able to make a catch out there one time, too, but Hartline was able to get down the field that way, so that was positive."

Dolphins Trade Ndukwe, Alleman To Chiefs

The Dolphins have traded offensive linemen Ikechuku Ndukwe and Andy Alleman to the Chiefs. What Miami has received in exchange for the two players isn't yet known. The pair started a combined 20 games for the Dolphins last season when injuries created holes on their line. The Dolphins also terminated the contract of Ernest Wilford.

Crowder On Vontae Davis: He Doesn't Have All His Bullets

Oct 15, 2014 12:53 PM

Like his brother Vernon, Vontae Davis is an incredibly outspoken individual. "He's so loud and crazy," linebacker Channing Crowder says of the rookie cornerback out of Illinois. "There's something wrong with him. He doesn't have all his bullets. He's a different individual." "Everything he says is funny because of the way he says it and how enthusiastic he is when he says it," said Will Davis, a former teammate at Illinois who is now with the Cardinals. "He's got that little high-pitched voice."
