Vic Fangio and the Miami Dolphins have agreed to part ways as defensive coordinator. 

Fangio nearly became defensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023 and is expected to be hired by the team in this cycle. 

Fangio worked with the Eagles for two weeks last year as a consultant, helping them prepare for Super Bowl LVII, before eventually joining the Dolphins.

The Miami Dolphins want Tua Tagovailoa to be their quarterback for the long haul.

General manager Chris Grier said while the two sides tabled contract negotiations during the regular season, they will intensify this offseason as Tagovailoa enters the final year of his rookie deal.

"We've stayed in touch with his agent, had good conversations throughout the year," Grier said. "Never talked about money or anything, just good conversations about where he is. ... The goal is to have him here long term, playing at a high level. That's always the goal.

"We'll communicate with him through the offseason and like we've always said in the past, you guys know me, we don't really talk to the media through all that stuff. So, we'll keep those talks internal and with his reps."

Wildcard weekend for the 2023 NFL season will take place over three days on Jan. 13, 14 and 15.

Tyreek Hill and his family are safe after firefighters responded to a large fire at the Miami Dolphins wide receiver's home.

Fire Marshal Robert Taylor of the Davie Fire Rescue Department said that the cause of the fire was unclear as of Wednesday afternoon. Nobody living at the 9,300-square-foot Berkshire Court house, located about 30 miles northwest of Miami, was harmed, according to Taylor.

Hill was made aware of the incident during Wednesday's practice and left to attend to the matter.

Bradley Chubb will miss the remainder of the season for the Miami Dolphins with a torn ACL.

Chubb went down with a noncontact injury late in the fourth quarter Sunday and was carted back to the locker room soon after.

Chubb leads the Dolphins with 11 sacks this season and took on a larger role after linebacker Jaelan Phillips tore an Achilles in Week 12.
