Mike Vrabel has turned down an offer to become the San Francisco 49ers' defensive coordinator.

Vrabel has been linebackers coach of the Houston Texans over the past two seasons.

The Texans listed Clowney among their inactives following a pregame workout in the weight room. Clowney was upset about the decision, believing he was ready to play.
