Kareem Hunt Says He's 100 Percent Healthy

Jun 30, 2022 7:57 AM

After missing nine games last season with calf and ankle injuries, Kareem Hunt says he's fully healthy.

"I'm good, I'm 100%. I have some time to heal this offseason and get back to it," Hunt said. "So body is feeling good, nothing's bothering me."

The Cleveland Browns are 13-6 the last two seasons when both Nick Chubb and Hunt have played.

Report: NFL Wants To Avoid Appeals Process With Deshaun Watson

Jun 30, 2022 7:46 AM

Deshaun Watson's disciplinary hearing has dragged out this week without much news on an expected outcome.

However, the Associated Press reports that the NFL "wants to avoid the appeals process -- source said 'a terrible situation for everyone involved' -- so league is more likely to abide by Sue Robinson's ruling if she came back with 6-8 games."

The league would rather settle the situation as quickly as possible, than have the Cleveland Browns quarterback suspended indefinitely and have the NFLPA enter an appeal.

Baker Mayfield On Browns: Both Sides Have Moved On

Jun 29, 2022 8:31 AM

Baker Mayfield hasn't completely ruled out a return to the Cleveland Browns, but he also said that both sides are ready to move on.

Mayfield's status remains in question in the wake of the Browns acquiring Deshaun Watson via trade. The possibility remains that Watson will be suspended for all, or most, of the 2022 season.

"I think for that to happen there would have to be some reaching out," Mayfield said of a return to the team. "But we're ready to move on, I think -- on both sides."

The Browns signed Jacoby Brissett this offseason to start if Watson is suspended.

He was at one point facing 24 civil lawsuits that accused him of sexual assault and inappropriate conduct during massage sessions. He has agreed to settle 20 of those suits.

Deshaun Watson Settles 20 Of 24 Lawsuits

Jun 21, 2022 2:13 PM

Deshaun Watson has settled all but four of the lawsuits filed against him, attorney Tony Buzbee said in a statement Tuesday.

Since March 16, 2021, 25 lawsuits have been filed against Watson, alleging sexual assault and other inappropriate behavior during massage sessions. Of those 25, one was dropped by the plaintiff when the judge ruled her petition had to be amended with her name. The other 20, Buzbee said, have been settled.

"We are working through the paperwork related to those settlements," Buzbee said in a statement. "Once we have done so, those particular cases will be dismissed. The terms and amounts of the settlements are confidential. We won't comment further on the settlements or those cases."

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said Tuesday that, "today's development has no impact on the collectively bargained disciplinary process."

Buzbee said in his statement that without Solis' "courage and willingness to come forward, the NFL wouldn't currently be contemplating discipline; there would be no examination of how teams might knowingly or unknowingly enable certain behavior; sports teams wouldn't be reviewing their personnel screening processes; and this important story wouldn't have dominated the sports headlines for more than a year."

Kareem Hunt Asks Browns For Extension, Unsure Of Future

Jun 20, 2022 8:00 AM

Kareem Hunt is entering the final year of his contract, but has reportedly asked the Cleveland Browns for an extension.

Hunt's contract carries a base salary of just $1.35 million with a salary cap hit for the Browns of $6.25 million because of a $4.9 roster bonus.

"Right now I'm just taking it day by day, man," Hunt said. "I'm going to see what they want to do with me and I'm just taking it day by day. Hopefully I can be here longterm. We'll see what God has in plan for me, that's all I can say."

"I was born and raised here," the running back added. "I'd love to finish my career here and just keep playing the game with (Nick) Chubb longer and with the great guys on this great team."
